- Macarthur have won two of their last three games across all competitions, including a 4-0 home win over Wellington Phoenix in the A-League.
- Perth Glory are looking for their first away win in seven games across all competitions (D4, L3).
- Macarthur have conceded 2.7 goals per game on average to Perth Glory in home meetings.
Two teams in transition
New coach Sasa Ognenovski has been true to his word and demanded that Macarthur FC play the game with brave and forward-thinking players. The Bulls have won four and lost six of their ten matches in all competitions so far, but they do seem to have turned a corner in the last couple of weeks.
Macarthur have started to play in transition better and have found a way to release their best players in the final third, as evidenced by the 4-0 thrashing of Wellington Phoenix here in the A-League and the 3-0 away win over University Azzurri in the Australia Cup.
They have won two of their last four at home across all competitions (W2, L2) and are coming off a four-goal performance in their most recent game here, while Perth Glory are yet to win on their travels in seven attempts across all competitions (D4, L3).
A Glorious night for Macarthur?
The visitors are a lot more organised and have a solid platform from which to operate, but they're just not quite clicking as well as they should. Adam Griffiths has set up a solid side, but they will get their opportunities to counter attack.
In the head-to-head, Perth Glory have won two of the last three meetings and Macarthur have never beaten Glory during that sequence. The Bulls are favourites for this game at 1.9, while a draw is available at 3.75 and Perth Glory at 3.6.
It's the price of both teams to score that catches my eye here, at 1.57. The visitors will sit deep and try to frustrate Macarthur, who may get a little bit too eager to break through in the opening stages. Over 2.5 goals at 1.65 looks a good option in the odds market as a result of that.
The verdict
This game shouldn't be a lock for Macarthur, as Perth have the ability to make them work for everything and can also hurt them on the counter. However, Macarthur are more likely to just about nick it at home, especially as they have finally begun to find their groove.
Perth Glory have drawn two of their last three away games and their 2-1 A-League win at home to Brisbane Roar last time out shows that they can still nick it if they get things right.
