- Getafe are unbeaten in 4 home games in LaLiga 2026/2027, winning two and drawing two.
- Rayo Vallecano are still looking for their first away win of the season in LaLiga 2026/2027, with 1 draw and 3 defeats from 4 games.
- Rayo have the better of the recent H2H record, winning two of the last five and drawing three with Getafe failing to win either of the previous two meetings at home.
Derby day at the Coliseum
There's a derby atmosphere in the air on Monday when Getafe take on Rayo Vallecano at the Coliseum, with the two Madrid-based sides hovering around the bottom half of the table in 14th and 13th respectively.
The hosts have eight points from eight games, the same number of points as Rayo, who have eight points from seven games. Getafe are the team in the better form of the two, however, with one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five in all competitions. They're unbeaten in four at home, however, following a 1-0 win over Malaga and a 3-0 defeat away to Barcelona.
José Bordalás has kept to his usual formula since taking the helm at Getafe in April 2023, with the Azulones a compact, combative side that will try to suffocate opponents and hit on the counter attack. Rayo, on the other hand, have gone a more progressive route since Beñat San José took over in July 2026. He has implemented a vertical, high-tempo style of play and the Franjirrojos are the more positive side on the whole.
Rayo to get their first win?
Getafe are 89/50 for the win, which looks very generous considering Rayo are 8/5 and the draw is 41/20, but we're going to pass on all three for this game as the odds are against the laws of probability. Rayo are yet to win away from home, but they've played some tough fixtures against Real Madrid away, Espanyol at home and Osasuna away. They lost the first game 4-1, won the second 2-1 and drew the third 1-1.
While the hosts are better at home, we're not convinced that they can get the win against Rayo on Monday. It's certainly going to be a scrap between two very different sides with contrasting philosophies, but Getafe's low-possession, direct approach should clash hard with Rayo's quicker, more progressive style and wide attacking patterns.
Goals could be few and far between
Under 2.5 goals at 12/25 looks the cleaner bet here as Getafe have been involved in some tight, tense affairs at the Coliseum in this campaign and Rayo have also failed to open up games away from home. The home team have scored just four goals at their ground and average 1.00 per match in total in the league, so it's unlikely that they'll turn this into a shootout.
Enes Unal leads their scoring charts with one goal in seven games, highlighting how tight Getafe have been at the top end of the pitch. Sergio Camello has been the main threat for Rayo, however, hitting seven in seven in 2026/2027 and six of his side's last nine. However, Rayo have scored 1.25 and conceded 3.00 per game away from home and that chaos at the back should allow Getafe to nick this one, so the draw or Rayo double chance is our selection.
Rayo won the corresponding fixture 2-0 away from home in LaLiga 2025/2026 and Getafe are winless in the last two meetings at the Coliseum, so we're taking the away side to get their first road win of the campaign here in a close, tense affair.
