- Hull are unbeaten in the last five head-to-head matches, winning three times and drawing twice.
- Hull have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches.
- Millwall have won four and lost one of their last five in the Championship.
An even, entertaining affair at the MKM
Hull City have hit a bit of a wobble over the last month or so, winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five competitive games. However, City are in good form heading into this Saturday’s game against Millwall, following up a 4-2 home win over Derby County with a 1-0 away win at Portsmouth last weekend.
Hull City are unbeaten in their last five games against Millwall, and have won three of those contests. The Tigers also won 3-1 away from home in the Championship when these sides last met two months ago, and Hull look good value to come out on top on Saturday at 171/100.
Sergej Jakirovic has instilled a smart, disciplined and adaptable system in Hull since taking charge in June 2025. His team are strong in transition, favouring quick vertical passes and measured counter-pressing when they have to sit back and defend. Hull’s narrow formations have provided their fast, wide runners with plenty of space to operate in behind the opposition’s lines, and they have scored 28 goals at home this season.
Millwall currently sit 3rd in the Championship table with 62 points from 35 games, after four straight wins and just one defeat in their last five. The Lions are pushing hard for an automatic promotion spot, and travel to the MKM Stadium in red hot form, following up a 2-0 victory away at Preston North End with last weekend’s 3-0 home win over Birmingham City.
Alex Neil has done a tremendous job with The Lions since taking the reins in December 2024. Neil’s men are a direct side who do exactly what they’re good at, using a compact shape to frustrate opponents and a route-one style to get their best players into space.
Femi Azeez is currently their biggest threat, with the Nigerian attacker scoring eight and assisting three goals in 24 Championship appearances this term - he’s directly involved in half of Millwall’s last five goals. The visitors have won eight, drawn five and lost just four of their 17 Championship away games since the start of the season, and have conceded just 19 goals in that period, so they won’t be easy to break through on Saturday.
A real test of different styles
Hull City’s recent home form has been patchy, with one win, one draw and two defeats in their last four at MKM. Millwall, however, are on a three-match winning streak away from home, but have failed to win in their last two trips to face Hull. This will be a high tempo, physically demanding affair as both sides look to impose their different playing styles on the match.
With Hull sitting fifth in the Championship with 60 points from 34 games, their consistency should see them come out on top of this game. Both teams should get on the scoresheet, however, so we’re backing the BTTS - Yes market at 71/100 alongside the Over 2.5 goals market at 47/50.
