Marine may try to take it to Warrington
Marine have won four and lost six of their last ten matches - a streaky run of form which will make it difficult to assess them ahead of Saturday's FA Cup clash with Warrington Town. Marine are in slightly better form than overall figures suggest with two straight wins going into this, but a 2-1 away defeat to South Shields was followed by a 2-1 home win over Darlington and then a 2-1 away victory at Merthyr Town last weekend.
He has had the time to put his stamp on the club since his appointment as head coach on 1 September 2020. Marine will try to impose a 4-4-2 system on Warrington on Saturday, which will see them push on the wings and build up their attack in the centre, while the high press is designed to win the ball back in dangerous positions.
The Yellows have a 4-3-3 shape but are a much more forward-facing side in terms of their approach, preferring to push and probe in the final third with direct balls. Paul Carden's men have been in good form away from home, winning three, drawing one and losing one of their last five away fixtures. Jack Goodwin has been their most potent striker in recent matches, scoring two of their three goals in their last five.
Yellows are in top form
Warrington Town have a much better record away from home than Marine and look the sharper side in attack, so we're taking the Yellows to come away from the Marine National Arena with a win.
There is a style clash that could lead to an intriguing clash of possession versus transition, but Marine will be better off in the former and could get caught in transition if they push too far forward. Warrington Town are a lively bunch in the attacking third and score plenty of goals away from home, so we're backing them at 77/25 to nick this one and add another scalp to the cup run.
