- Solihull Moors have lost four of their last five matches and have lost their last three consecutive games.
- Southend United have won four and drawn one of their last five games and have won their last two consecutive games.
- Solihull Moors have not won a single game at home in the National League 2026/2027, conceding 2.00 goals per game. Southend United are perfect on the road, winning 100% of their games and averaging 3.00 goals per away game.
Shrimpers are on the up and up
Southend United have won their opening two matches of the National League 2026-2027 campaign and have been in excellent form throughout, so they look good to continue their fine run at Solihull this weekend.
Kieron Dyer was appointed as The Shrimpers boss on 1st July 2026 and he has quickly brought a more pragmatic approach to the club, as well as a results-based edge. United currently sit in fourth position in the National League 2026-2027 table, with six points from a possible six.
Last time out, they recorded a 1-3 victory away to Altrincham, before a 1-0 win at home to Scunthorpe United. United are a much more compact unit, with a wing-back system and a direct transition attack. Harry Cardwell is their main goal threat up top and is already leading the scoring charts in the National League 2026-2027, so the Shrimpers have a good focal point up front.
Solihull are on the back foot
Solihull have had an opposite start to the campaign, losing both games and sitting 23rd in the table. Their most recent result was a 0-2 defeat at home to Boston United FC, which followed on from a 0-3 home defeat to Birmingham City and a 5-2 defeat away at Harrogate Town. Chris Millington has his side playing a possession-heavy, line-breaking game with aggressive pressing after turnovers. However, his side have been poor and their backline has been leaky, particularly at home. Jacob Wakeling is the main threat for Solihull, but he's currently their highest goalscorer in the National League 2026-2027 and has scored three of their six goals in their last five.
Southend look likely to nick it
We're going with the visitors in this one, as they've been excellent so far and Solihull have been very poor. The away side are rated 77/100, while Solihull are 291/100 and the draw is 13/5. There is some resistance in the H2H, which is perhaps why this isn't a more lopsided game. The last meeting ended 0-0 at Roots Hall and Solihull are without a win against the Shrimpers in their last three home games.
Southend have won three of the last five, while Solihull have one and one was a draw. We're taking Southend to edge this one at ARMCO Arena, but Solihull's home numbers have been shaky and the best alternative bet is probably Southend United to win & BTTS.
