The officials are going to get dragged into this sooner or later because every early goal thread turns into people sniffing for something, but honestly the bigger issue is just how slow Fulham looked to react and how quickly Chelsea took the initiative. Still, you know the second there is any contact in the box people will start screaming about decisions and the ref will get blamed for the entire state of the universe which is always ridiculous
 
Chelsea have made the perfect start, but the real question is whether they can control the game after such an early breakthrough. If Fulham settle, this could become a lot more even.
 
Fulham fans in here acting like theyve been robbed of their birthright when really they just got done by a team that started faster and sharper than them and now everyone wants to make it some huge conspiracy when its just football and they were asleep at the wheel
 
From a tactical point of view the goal comes from Chelsea being ready to press the moment the game begins, and that is exactly the sort of thing that can unsettle a side like Fulham before they even establish their rhythm. But beyond that, the reaction online is pure comedy because as soon as the ball hits the net everyone starts talking about Brazil selections and managers and who should have been picked over who, which is fair enough because Joao Pedro does look excellent, but the bigger point is Chelsea have forced the game into their terms immediately and that is a huge advantage, and if Fulham do not respond properly this could become a very long afternoon for them and their fans and I am already seeing people losing their minds over it
