Spurs agree £75m deal for Savinho

If the fee is really this high then the officials at the selling end of the market deserve as much blame as anyone because every one of these deals sets the tone for the next one and then suddenly everyone is acting like the numbers are normal, the problem is not just Spurs paying too much it is the entire system letting clubs pile on clauses and sell on nonsense until the final price is a joke, and then fans are expected to argue about value like accountants while the people at the top keep inflating everything and pretending it is just ambition, absolute farce from top to bottom
 
This looks like a bet on profile more than production. Spurs clearly want a winger who can stretch games and create from wide areas, and if they believe Savinho is that player then the fee is tied to how much they value that role. It is still a steep price, but the logic is there.
 
I am not even a Spurs fan and this has me feeling second hand stress because every transfer like this makes the whole thing feel less real and more like a game of who can panic spend the hardest, one minute people are talking about squad building and the next it is just numbers being thrown around like confetti and everyone acting normal about it
