- Borussia Dortmund have won 12 of their 16 home Bundesliga fixtures, drawing two and losing two.
- Eintracht Frankfurt have won four of their 16 away Bundesliga fixtures, drawn seven and lost five.
- BVB have won two and lost three of their last five Bundesliga matches while Eintracht Frankfurt have won one, drawn two and lost two in their last five.
BVB are better at home
Borussia Dortmund’s home form has been solid with one win and one defeat in their last two Bundesliga matches at Signal Iduna Park where they have won 12 of 16, drawn two and lost just two.
BVB's recent away results include narrow losses to Hoffenheim and Moenchengladbach, but the visit of Eintracht Frankfurt to the Westfalenstadion should be easier.
Frankfurt, who finished eighth with 43 points after 32 games, were held to a 1-1 draw at Augsburg and then saw a two-goal home lead slip through their fingers in a 1-2 defeat to Hamburg. Overall, the Eagles have won 4, drawn 7 and lost 5 of their 16 Bundesliga away matches this season.
Dortmund should edge this
Dortmund sit second in the table with 67 points from 32 games and it has been a season of consistent achievement for Niko Kovac, who took over in February 2025.
The coach has established a compact 3-4-2-1 system that is built on a solid defensive foundation and rapid transitions from defence to attack when the wing-backs can provide width. Julian Brandt’s creativity and ability to thread the ball into key positions will be crucial again, while Serhou Guirassy can finish them off with 15 Bundesliga goals in 31 appearances.
Albert Riera has brought more flexibility to Frankfurt’s game since his appointment in February 2026. His style is based around structured possession football, positional overloads and high pressing, but Frankfurt can get caught out on the counter.
High-scoring clash likely
The last time these clubs met in the Bundesliga, three months ago, was a 3-3 thriller in Frankfurt and a similar result seems likely at Signal Iduna Park.
The bookies see it differently, however, with Dortmund 1.55 favourites to notch the win. The odds are good enough to take but it is clear that Frankfurt will not sit back and try to contain BVB in this one.
A better play is to take both teams to score at 1.44 while over 2.5 goals is coming in at 1.33, which is a little short given that both sides will want to finish the regular season with a high-scoring performance to build momentum for the battle to qualify for Europe.
Frankfurt have scored 30 goals in 16 Bundesliga away fixtures this season while Dortmund have hit 37 in 16 at home, so goals should be expected.
Mario Götze brings experience and vision to a Frankfurt midfield that aids transitions, but they don’t have the strength to match BVB, who should edge out their opponents to the three points.
Dortmund have won three and Frankfurt one of their last five Bundesliga meetings, with one draw; the most recent clash finished all square.
