- Brazil have won three of their last five matches in all competitions (D1, L1). Haiti have won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five games. Vinicius Junior has scored one goal in one World Cup appearance for Brazil, while Wilson Isidor has scored two of Haiti's last six.
Ancelotti's Brazil to dominate on the East Coast
Brazil take on Haiti at Philadelphia Stadium in what could be a pivotal fixture in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Saturday. The Selecao sit 3rd with one point from one match following their opening 1-1 draw with Morocco, while Haiti are 4th with no points after suffering a 0-1 defeat to Scotland.
Ancelotti's tactical versatility will be a major boost to Brazil as they attempt to dominate their group. The Brazil boss is known for tweaking his system to suit the situation and has so far made Brazil look comfortable with the ball at a measured tempo and deadly in transition.
There's no questioning which team are favourites to win this encounter, and it's almost laughable that you can get 1.12 for a Brazil win. The Haiti team are a bunch of journeymen who are experiencing their finest hour after qualifying for the tournament. Coach Sebastien Migne has them set up in a rigid 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 to keep things as compact as possible while they attempt to get bodies behind the ball to swarm opponents.
Haiti have the tools to frustrate
Migne will want his men to keep it tight and use their wingers and central striker to make good runs on the break, but they have had a habit of unravelling recently and that will be a concern ahead of this contest.
Brazil should control possession, but they will have to be patient as Haiti will likely pack their defence deep. Migne's team have looked good when compact and organised, but have slipped up in the past and we're backing the team to expose some flaws in their game and score a few goals.
Goals at both ends expected
Brazil may be favourites, but Haiti do have their own goalscorer in Wilson Isidor, who has netted two of his country's last six goals and is the only real forward option for the team. Brazil have the quality to score at will against Haiti, but it would be wrong to write the underdogs off completely.
Ancelotti's team do look very good with the ball and will be able to create plenty of chances against Haiti, but it's highly likely that Haiti will get on the scoresheet at some point in the game, even if it's a consolation goal.
Brazil edged Egypt 2-1 in a friendly and will have found enough to break through Haiti's defence at some stage during the game. There's the makings of a high-scoring match in Philadelphia, so we're taking Brazil to win and both teams to score in the match, while the odds for over 2.5 goals seem too tight at 1.31.
