- Getafe are seventh in LaLiga on 45 points after 35 games this season, a solid if unspectacular return.
- Osasuna are just three points behind Getafe in 11th after 35 games, with Ante Budimir (17 LaLiga goals) their main attacking threat.
- Osasuna have won just two of their 18 LaLiga away games this term, conceding 25 goals in the process.
Home advantage may decide tight contest
Getafe’s form is a mixed bag, but their home record of one win and two defeats in their last three is not too shabby when compared to Osasuna’s last away trip, which they lost, and their overall record of no wins in their last five.
But the head-to-head record between these two sides is a shade in Getafe’s favour, with each club winning twice and one draw in the last five LaLiga games between them. Osasuna beat Getafe 2-1 at home seven months ago, but that result is unlikely to have any bearing on Saturday’s contest.
Pepe Bordalás’s Getafe players are a compact, pugnacious 4-4-2 unit that presses high up the pitch and can strike quickly on the turn of a dime. Mauro Arambarri has chipped in with six LaLiga goals to complement the team’s overall style, while Luis Milla has nine assists to his name, so Getafe are a threat going forward as well as being resolute at the back.
Stylistic contrast could swing it for hosts
Osasuna’s game model has more structure to it than Getafe’s, but they do like to play the ball wide and build up play patiently. Raul Garcia has two of Osasuna’s recent four goals, so he could be a threat after a dry spell, but their overall form has been poor with four defeats in a row and no wins in their last five.
Bordalás is a good manager who instills a high level of discipline in his players while Alessio Lisci has taken over at Osasuna and made them a little more flexible, but the physicality of their wide build-up and aerial threat from Budimir up front may not be enough to break down the hosts.
Getafe will press Osasuna and create turnovers, then look to break quickly with their pacy attackers - so home advantage ought to see them take all the points.
Getafe to Win at 2.57 is the main bet for this clash, with over 2.5 goals at 2.55 a nice touch of extra coverage for an open contest with plenty of attacking intent on both sides. Both Teams to Score - No at 1.66 is the top odds available at the moment, but a Getafe win to nil with three or more goals looks the most likely scenario.
