Lively affair on the cards at Stadion Poznan
KKS Lech Poznan will have to work in the 2026 UEFA Champions League qualification, but they should eventually come through against an improving, but inconsistent, AGF Aarhus.
KKS Lech are the 1.89 favourite to win Wednesday's tie with AGF set at 3.95, while the draw is priced at 3.55. That is understandable given Poznan's momentum is growing, but there is a good chance for a few goals to flow in this clash, so we'll take the home side to qualify for smaller stakes.
The Over 2.5 goals market is at 1.78 and Both Teams to Score at 1.67 looks like a good starting point, with the latter being a safer angle in case you are not happy with Lech's price.
Poznan pack a punch up front
Lech's all-competition form is a very solid unbeaten 10 with six wins and four draws, but they have found their rhythm in the last couple of weeks. They drew 2-2 with Wisla Plock in their Ekstraklasa opener, then beat KS Gornik Zabrze 3-1 to win the Polish Super Cup and they belted AGF 4-1 in Champions League qualification.
Patrik Waalemark, who has four goals in Lech's last five, is their danger man after scoring two in one Champions League qualification appearance this season. Lech's 3-5-2 is designed to overload the central areas, either in transition or by overloading the flanks with wing-backs pushing forward.
AGF played a 2-0 friendly win over AC Horsens prior to their 4-1 loss, so the response has to be much better this time around. Aarhus are a balanced 4-3-3 side that can also set up as a 4-2-3-1, pressing early, trying to control the ball in the middle third and then use their energy in wide areas to press the ball back.
Draw looks unlikely
Kristian Arnstad has scored in Champions League qualification already, so Aarhus have a live wire in midfield, while Sebastian Joergensen's three goals in his last five is a pretty good return for a team that has not hit their stride yet. Jakob Poulsen, who took charge of AGF on 20 June 2025, has brought an urgency to press early and play with a bite, while Niels Frederiksen, who has had a little longer with Lech since 1 July 2024, is also having his team play with an edge.
AGF have a solid, but not spectacular, record of five wins, three draws and two defeats in their last 10 across all competitions, but their away record of one win, one draw and one loss in three is not strong enough to suggest they can come to Poznan and grab a result.
Lech should have enough to edge a close game with a bit of a cushion, but the 4-1 result gives them some psychological momentum going into this one. Lech score 2.60 goals per home match and concede 1.40 across all competitions, which suggests they control the game but have a little bite in both boxes.
AGF score 1.33 away goals across all competitions and have hit four on the road, so they can nick goals if the press lands and the odds should favour Poznan.
