- Brighton have won two of their three away games in the Premier League 2026/2027 and have conceded only four goals on the road.
- Liverpool have won four of their last five, and have scored twice in three games at Anfield.
- Brighton have won two of the last three games against Liverpool, but they failed to win either of their two previous trips to Anfield.
Seagulls flying in attack
Liverpool will not have an easy time of things against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, as Brighton are in blistering form and have a knack of coming off well against the Reds. The visitors have won their last four games and come into this clash unbeaten in five matches.
The last time these sides met in the league, Brighton edged out a 2-1 win, while they have won twice and lost once in the last three H2Hs. Brighton have also started the Premier League 2026/2027 campaign with some verve, winning two of their first three away matches and conceding just four goals on their travels.
Fabian Hürzeler's side are playing some of their best football, it has to be said. The former Aarau coach has developed a team with a clear identity, pressing in a high-intensity manner that is more trigger-based than blanket and yet playing on the ball in a fluid, possession-based manner.
Open game expected at Anfield
Andoni Iraola has a similar style at Liverpool and the visitors are likely to come out of the blocks quickly here, so we could see a similar clash of pressing and transition style, with Brighton's wing overloads and Liverpool's direct counters likely to test the defences.
The Reds are in strong nick themselves with four wins in five coming into this game, following up a 6-3 win at LASK Linz in the UEFA Champions League with a 2-1 away win at Brentford last time out.
Back the away side at a good price
Liverpool are at 2.0, but Brighton look good value at 3.3, especially if they maintain their current momentum.
They have looked the more free-flowing team of late, winning 2-0 away at Sunderland in the league before following it up with a 4-0 Conference League win at home to FK Zalgiris Kauno and a 5-0 hammering of Crystal Palace in the league.
Reds have been stifled at Anfield
The main issue for the hosts is that Liverpool have won four of their last five league matches and have gone three without a victory at Anfield, picking up two draws and a defeat and scoring just twice in the process.
Backing both teams to score at 1.5 is the clear play for this match, while Over 2.5 goals at 1.6 also looks the way to go in what should be a fairly open affair. Brighton's Pascal Gross is in fine form with three goals in his five league appearances, proving to be the one man Brighton can rely on to be in the right place at the right time, while Alexander Isak has proven himself to be the only finisher Liverpool can rely on with four in the league in the same number of appearances. Cody Gakpo has provided three assists in five games and looks the real spark for the Reds between the lines.
