- Paris Saint-Germain FC have won four of their last five Ligue 1 matches, the last two ending in 3-0 victories over Nantes and Angers.
- PSG have won two of their last three home Ligue 1 games and have conceded only ten goals in 15 fixtures at the Parc des Princes.
- Lorient have won only two of their 15 away games in Ligue 1, losing on eight occasions.
PSG have found their rhythm under Enrique
Paris Saint-Germain will provide the opposition to mid-table Lorient on Saturday when the league leaders host the Les Merlus at the Parc des Princes. Luis Enrique’s side have been in superb form of late, winning four of their last five games in Ligue 1.
Lorient have won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five Ligue 1 contests and arrive at the capital with some trepidation. Olivier Pantaloni’s men sit ninth in the table with 41 points from 31 games, which is a fair reflection on a mid-table campaign.
They could prove to be awkward guests for the hosts, however, as PSG are without a win in their last two home games against Les Merlus in Ligue 1, drawing 1-1 in their away match in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
But the Parisian powerhouse have a point to prove and there is no doubting their superiority in all departments of the game. Enrique has instilled a high-tempo, possession-based game that has plenty of width to it and the wingers can really get the better of their opponents if they play at their best.
Lorient are not prolific travellers
Lorient are more measured in their approach, favouring a slower tempo and selective pressing. Pantaloni, who took over in July 2024, has a pragmatic approach and prefers his team to build up in a more structured way. But they average only 0.73 goals per game away from home in Ligue 1, scoring just 11 times in 15 away matches, so the hosts should have a lot of possession and create more than enough chances.
Les Parisien have won 12, drawn one and lost only two of their 15 home Ligue 1 fixtures and look likely to continue that trend against a side that have lost back-to-back away games. Bamba Dieng, with nine goals in 20 Ligue 1 games this season, has scored two in the past five games and is Lorient’s most reliable goal source.
Bradley Barcola is PSG’s top scorer in Ligue 1 this term with ten in 25 appearances and can lead the Parisian charge with the home win at 1.27 and Over 2.5 goals at 1.32 both well worth taking with Both Teams to Score - No at 2.02 added to the mix given Lorient’s struggles to score on the road.
