- PSG have won four of their last five Ligue 1 matches, including back-to-back 3-0 wins over Nantes and Angers.
- Lorient have won only two of their 15 away matches in Ligue 1 this season, losing eight times.
- PSG have won 12, drawn one, and lost only two of their 15 home Ligue 1 games in 2025-26.
PSG have Ligue 1 in their sights
Paris Saint-Germain should take their final three points from this weekend’s Ligue 1 fixture against FC Lorient, who have won just 2 of their 15 away matches. The hosts have won two of their last three at home and are the class act of the division with 69 points from 30 matches.
Luis Enrique has turned PSG into a high-tempo, ball-dominant force since taking over as manager in July 2023, with great width and depth in their wing play and an aggressive pressing game that can make them a nightmare to defend against. The team has conceded only 10 goals at home in 2025-26, demonstrating their dominance on their home turf.
Bradley Barcola is PSG’s top scorer in Ligue 1 this term with 10 goals in 25 appearances, but there are plenty of other attacking talents who can hurt Lorient if PSG are in the mood to go crazy. The visitors are likely to be more compact and will set up to disrupt PSG’s game plan.
Lorient not in bad shape overall
Olivier Pantaloni has done an excellent job with the Lorient squad since taking over in July 2024. He has focused on being pragmatic and structured in their build-up, which is fine against teams that like to play slowly and patiently.
Lorient are having a decent enough season, sitting 9th in Ligue 1 with 41 points from 31 games, but their recent form is a mixed bag with one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five. Bamba Dieng is the top scorer with nine in 20 Ligue 1 games, of which two have come in the last five, making him their main goal threat.
Home win looks a dead cert
PSG have won 12 of their 15 Ligue 1 home games this season and should win this one too, but they failed to beat Lorient in either of their last two home matches. The last meeting finished 1-1 at Lorient’s ground, but they will have a much tougher time breaking PSG down this time around.
A home win is the most likely result, with PSG winning at 27/100 a great price considering they have 37 points at home from a possible 45 and Lorient have managed only 11 away goals in 2025-26, averaging a measly 0.73 per game. They will be able to keep it tight for long periods but will struggle to break PSG down.
Backing PSG to win with over 2.5 goals seems a safe bet here with the home side to cover, although the visitors are unlikely to score in defeat. PSG can dominate the ball and create chances all day, but Lorient may find it tough to get in the penalty area.
