- Bromley are undefeated in 21 home League Two fixtures, winning 13 and drawing eight.
Bromley best at home
Bromley lead League Two this season with 83 points accumulated from 43 matches, but have slipped up in two of their last five matches.
Andy Woodman’s high-energy style has Bromley playing at full pelt at all times, with plenty of aggressive wing-back play and an intense press that wears teams down. They are very strong at home and very dangerous on the transition when they win the ball back, which they do a lot.
They recently beat Shrewsbury Town 2-1 at Hayes Lane, before slipping to a 2-1 defeat away at Milton Keynes Dons. Their home form remains almost perfect, however, with Bromley having won both of their most recent home matches.
Cambridge United close behind
Cambridge United are currently third in the League Two table with 77 points from 42 matches, but they are nowhere near as convincing as their opponents on Thursday.
Neil Harris has instilled a much more measured, possession-based style of play on the team since his appointment as boss in February 2025, but they are still disciplined in their lines and do not press as intensely as Bromley.
The Cambs side beat Notts County 4-0 at Abbey Stadium last time out, but were held to draws against Swindon Town and Cheltenham Town before that.
Bromley should win
These two teams last met in League Two five months ago, with Cambridge United running out 2-1 winners on home soil. Their away record this season has been good, with seven wins, eight draws and six defeats in 21, but they have yet to win at Hayes Lane.
Backing Bromley to take the three points in what should be a high-scoring match seems the right play here, as the hosts have conceded only 20 goals in their 21 home league games this term. Cambridge average 1.10 goals per game on the road in League Two, with 23 of them coming on their travels this season, so over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score should also come in.
Michael Cheek is Bromley’s biggest threat in the final third, bagging 16 goals in 35 appearances in the league this term, while James Gibbons has been in great form for the visitors recently, netting three times in their last five.
Bromley win at 93/50, Over 2.5 goals at 6/5 and Both Teams to Score - Yes at 17/20 are my selections for this game.
