Historical Promotion Chasers Bromley Can Edge Another Battle
The League Two promotion race could be decided in the next week or so and Bromley will want to have plenty to do in the final game if they are to secure a place in English football’s third tier for the first time in the club’s history.
Bromley have accumulated 84 points from 44 games in League Two in 2025-26, while Salford City have 77 points from the same amount of matches, which means fourth-placed Salford need to overhaul the leaders to gatecrash the automatic promotion party.
This should be a fiercely contested game because of that and there are usually no shortage of goals when these two sides meet, although the Ammies may just have the edge of this one.
Bromley can break the Ammies home hoodoo
Salford lost the most recent head-to-head meeting 2-0 to Bromley and are unbeaten in their last three home matches, winning two and drawing one.
The Ammies have also come through with three wins and a draw in their last five games, although they are in better form than their opponents on paper, having suffered only one defeat during that span.
Bromley have won only one of their last five (Drawn two, lost two), but that victory was the 2-1 home success over Shrewsbury Town.
Their subsequent 2-1 away defeat to Milton Keynes Dons was followed by a 0-0 home draw with Cambridge United, leaving the visitors open to the charge that they are losing their nerve.
Bromley have their goal-scorers
Bromley boss Andy Woodman has made the Ravens a direct, physical and dangerous team since taking over at the club in March 2021.
They are a set-piece powerhouse and always have a player on his toes to make an opportunity happen from deep.
They do not always have the ball, but when they win it, they usually move it forward quickly with pace and precision, while they are also very disciplined and compact in defence.
Karl Robinson has made Salford City a more adventurous and possession-based team since his appointment in January 2024.
They build up play in a structured and methodical way, which allows players to rotate positions to create openings in the centre of the park where they have a playmaker.
Salford have a goal-scorer up front in Ryan Graydon, who has 11 goals in 44 League Two games this season, while Matt Butcher has scored two of their last five with some dynamic play recently.
Bromley also have a top scorer in Michael Cheek, who has hit 16 in 35 appearances, and Marcus Ifill has scored two in his last five.
Back Bromley to get the win
The Ravens will want to secure promotion and Salford will not want to let them get anywhere near achieving it, so this could be an end-to-end battle.
Salford have conceded an average of 1.09 goals per home game in League Two while scoring 1.45 goals per home match, so they are good at the back but potent going forward.
Bromley score an average of 1.36 and concede 1.05 goals per away match, which shows they are efficient and solid defensively on their travels.
We’re taking the visitors at 133/50 while the odds for both teams to score are also worth a flutter at 77/100.
