- Celtic have won two of their last three home H2Hs against Hearts, including a 3-1 win in the Premiership - Championship Round 2026 four months ago.
- Celtic have picked up three wins and suffered just one defeat from four home Premiership 2026/2027 matches, while Hearts have won one, drawn one and lost two of their four road games in the top flight.
- Hearts have averaged 1.50 goals per-game on their travels in the 2026/2027 Scottish Premiership, scoring six times on the road.
Bhoys have Hearts in their sights at Parkhead
Celtic have looked vulnerable of late with three defeats in their last five matches, but that was a 0-1 loss at home to Rangers and a 1-3 defeat to Ferencvarosi TC in the UEFA Europa League. In between those games, they returned to Premiership 2026/2027 business with a 0-2 victory at Motherwell this afternoon and that should be enough to sharpen their edge at Parkhead this Sunday.
The Bhoys have dominated the Celtic derby with Hearts over recent years, winning two and losing two of the last five meetings and we're going to support them again on that basis, although not with a confident bet.
The Jambos are in better form than their hosts, registering three wins, one draw and just a defeat in their last five. Vrancken's men demolished St Mirren 5-0 in the 2026/2027 campaign at home yesterday, but will have a tougher time of things at Celtic Park.
Jambos will make the Bhoys earn a win
While Celtic are the table-toppers on 21 points after eight games, Hearts sit in third with 16 from the same number of matches. Celtic should edge this one, but the Jambos have enough form and firepower to keep it closer than their odds suggest.
Celtic have had the upper hand in recent meetings, winning two of the last five, while the Jambos have taken two and one ended level, but both teams have changed and Wouter Vrancken's side will make this very interesting.
The Belgian has brought a compact mid-block to Hearts, and his side will deploy fast vertical breaks to hurt their hosts. It will be a chess match at times between Vrancken's system and Martin O'Neill's pragmatic 4-3-3 with structured build-up and sharp counter-press triggers.
Celtic will have the majority of the ball and they will overload the flanks as usual, but they've not been scoring goals with the ease they are accustomed to and this should be closer than the odds suggest.
Go for goals in the Parkhead showdown
Celtic have scored just six times in their four home league games and that isn't ideal for a team that has to win every game in the 2026/2027 season, but they have been controlling games and should do so again on Sunday.
The clearest way in at the moment is to go over 2.5 goals at 1/2, which fits the idea of Celtic pressure versus Hearts counter-punching. A correct score play of 2-1 to the home side, with both teams on the scoresheet, is also advised.
Benjamin Nygren leads the way with three in seven for Celtic in the 2026/2027 SPL, but Mika Baur has scored two of Celtic's last four goals across all competitions. James Wilson, with three in six, is Hearts' man in form.
