- Chesham are a 4-3-3 team who play proactive football, using overloads out wide and quick transitions.
- Forest Green are a 4-4-2 side who like to get the ball forward quickly and look for early transitions.
- Chesham have won four, drawn one and lost five of their last ten in all competitions.
Spoils to be shared on Saturday
Chesham United and Forest Green Rovers are set to face off in what looks a fascinating FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round clash on Saturday, and the draw at 59/20 looks the way to go.
The Generals are a positive side who play a 4-3-3 formation and they like to overload their opponents with the ball out wide before making quick transitions from defence into attack. James Duncan, who has been at the club since September 2020, seems to have them playing his football and knows how to get his team ready for a cup fight.
The Greens are a more direct side and are set up in a 4-4-2 formation with two strikers up top. Daniel Connor has only been in charge since January 2024, but he has stamped his authority on the team and they are a much more forward-thinking side than in recent years.
Two solid defences are unlikely to keep each other out
Forest Green are a team but they haven't been in the best of form recently with two wins, three draws and five defeats from their last ten in all competitions. Chesham's form is only slightly better, but a win and three defeats from their last four at home indicates they could be breached on Saturday.
Alex Lafleur has scored two goals in his last five appearances and looks the best chance of a Chesham goal, but Forest Green have also found the back of the net five times in four away trips at an average of 1.25 per 90 minutes.
The clash of styles should produce some end-to-end football but neither side will be able to keep it tight enough to stop the other and so the spoils look likely to be shared.
