- Real Bedford are the form team, winning nine of their last ten across all competitions, losing only once.
- Chesham have won just three of their last ten in all competitions, suffering six defeats in the process.
- Real Bedford have an excellent away record of four wins from four in all competitions, scoring 2.75 goals per away game and conceding 0.75 goals per away game.
Different styles will create a cracker
Chesham United FC are a well organised 3-5-2 unit with two wing backs, who make the game ugly by using their tall bodies to hold the ball and set pieces to create chaos for opponents, but James Duncan's side have not been in good form lately.
Duncan has been in charge of the Generals since September 2020, during which time they have developed a reputation for being a structured and organised side, but they have won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three.
The last two games neatly sums up their recent form - a 4-1 away win at struggling Horsham was followed by a 0-4 home defeat to National League side Maidenhead United - so I wouldn't back Chesham for this game on current form.
Real Bedford look the most likely to nick it
Real Bedford FC have a very different game style to their opponents. They play a high-tempo, attack-minded game, pressing the ball at pace, getting in behind opponents quickly and supplying wide service on a regular basis.
They come into this one on the back of some of their best performances of the campaign with four wins from their last five - a 4-1 away victory at Stourbridge, a 0-3 home loss to Wingate & Finchley and a 3-2 win at home to Leiston - and these matches show both their firepower and chaotic side.
Backing the visitors, who look the most likely to come away with the three points, is surely the way to go here given Real Bedford's current form. Josh Allen, who has scored three of their nine goals in the last five, is going to get some joy in the box if he is served by his fellow pirates.
Chesham's home record is also a concern - 1 win, 1 draw, 2 defeats in the last four - so they have been vulnerable there lately and the odds of 117/50 for Real Bedford to win seems fair given what I have seen of both teams in the past month.
Both teams will surely get on the scoresheet with the Generals' aerial discipline, but the sharper, more ruthless Pirates have the edge to pinch it in a high-scoring game - Over 2.5 goals 13/25 and Both Teams to Score - Yes 9/20.
