Peterhead can take some momentum into Saturday’s derby against East Fife after a decent run of results that have seen them win two, draw one and lose two of their last five games.
Jordon Brown, the co-manager alongside Ryan Strachan, has installed a pragmatic, compact system at Balmoor that is full of bite and can adapt to almost any opponent. The Blue Toon are a high-tempo side that can play with a lot of personnel in the box when they press in numbers, and they are a constant danger on the counter-attack.
Kieran Shanks is the key player in Peterhead’s attack, as the striker has netted 17 goals in 31 League One fixtures in 2025-2026. Impressively, five of Peterhead’s last seven goals have been scored by Shanks, so he is in excellent form and a constant threat to keep the opposition goalie busy.
East Fife are likely to be on the back foot as a result and it could be up to Andrew Munro to get them the odd goal at the other end. He is their top scorer with six goals from 30 appearances in League One this season and is a solid targetman that they can go to in the air.
A game of two halves
East Fife have a very different approach to their visitors in that they are an organised, physical team that will look to control games with their build-up and discipline, and punish the opposition with their routine and set-piece work.
They will be disappointed with the run of form they are on, having won none of their last five (D3, L2) after a 2-2 away draw with Queen of the South was followed by a 2-2 home draw against Stenhousemuir and a 1-0 away defeat to Montrose.
