Chic Geordie’s boys are running away with it
Inverness Caledonian Thistle are the most likely winners of Saturday’s clash with East Fife in the League One’s 2025-2026 season after scoring 21 goals in their 17 away games to date. Chic Geordie Scott Kellacher, who has been in charge of ICT since October 2024, has instilled a control-oriented mindset on the side that has helped them rise to the top of the table with 65 points from 34 games.
In contrast, East Fife are 8th in the table with just 34 points from the same number of games. However, Dick Campbell’s pragmatic side have been very solid at times since the ex-Albion Rovers manager took over in February 2024 and have taken one win and a draw from their last two at home.
That run includes a 2-1 win over Peterhead, who ICT beat 2-0 away last time out, and ICT beat Kelty Hearts 1-0 at home last month. This will be a classic counter-vs-control game of chess between two very different sides and the one with the most quality and momentum should edge it.
Fife can get on the scoresheet
Campbell has a reputation as a shrewd operator and his side look much more compact this term, having the ability to frustrate opponents and hit back with their pace in transition or on set-pieces. Top scorer Andrew Munro, with six goals in 32 League One games, is a threat from either position.
East Fife have failed to win their last home game against ICT and that seems likely again with an odds-on favourite of 21/50 on the road. Both teams to score, at 17/20, should also come in, while over 2.5 goals, at 7/10, is another strong play on the odds-on favorite.
Sam Culbert has scored two goals in East Fife’s last five games, which should help them get on the board against ICT, who have enough attacking variety with Chanka Zimba, with 11 in 30, leading the line and Alfie Stewart adding two to their tally in the last five.
