- Levante (13th, 10pts from 9 games) will try to disrupt the pace against a higher-tempo Atletico Madrid (2nd, 22pts from 9 games).
- The Colchoneros have conceded only 5 goals in 5 away games in LaLiga 2026-2027 and are unbeaten in their last 5 matches (4 wins, 1 draw).
- Levante have not beaten the visitors in their last 2 home meetings.
Atletico’s away form is title-chasing
The odds are heavily stacked in Atlético Madrid's favour to win Saturday's away fixture at Levante and, while Oscar Fernandez's men are rightly the clear favourites at 29/50, the draw is coming in at an extremely short 31/10.
That leaves the alternative option of both teams to score: No as a good route to a profitable weekend punt at 27/20. That selection has a good chance because, although they have the defensive steel to keep Levante out, the visitors will be able to stop the hosts from scoring.
Atlético are on a great run, remaining 2nd after a 1-0 away win over RCD Espanyol last weekend, before following up with a solid 1-1 draw at VfB Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Levante can be solid, but not against the big boys
Luis Castro's Levante have been in mixed form since he took charge on 20 December 2025, winning one, drawing two and losing two of their last five matches. Granotas have made a tough proposition of their home ground in LaLiga 2026-2027, however, where they have won two, drawn one and lost one of their four matches to date.
Levante are a team that likes to sit deep and then hit with pace on the break, although they don't tend to be the side that controls the ball for long spells. The 4-2-3-1 formation that Castro likes to play allows them to stay compact and well-disciplined, but can also be devastating on the counter-attack.
Iván Romero has added a bit of a bite to Levante's attack in the last few games with three of Levante's ten goals across the last five LaLiga 2026-2027 matches while Roger Brugue leads the way with three in five. But their top scorer, Álex Baena, has four in seven for Atletico, which gives the Colchoneros a great finisher.
Fernandez’s side can suffocate hosts
Oscar Fernandez's Atletico Madrid sit much higher than Levante, but are far more aggressive when they do press, looking to snap into coordinated actions and attack with width and overloading of the half-spaces when they have the ball.
This has all the makings of a classic underdog-vs-heavyweight affair with the hosts trying to slow the pace and the away side trying to stretch and suffocate the game. Atletico Madrid are very likely to edge this, but Levante's record at home and recent scoring form tells us they will make it difficult for the leaders.
The reverse fixture in LaLiga 2025-2026 finished 0-0 here, while Atletico are unbeaten in three meetings between the two clubs (2 wins, 1 draw). Levante have averaged 3.25 goals scored and 2.50 conceded per home game in the current LaLiga campaign, which tells us the games can be wild at the Ciutat de València.
