- Bristol City are favourites at 61/50, followed by Charlton at 43/20 and the draw at 23/10.
- The Robins have won one and drawn one of the last two head-to-heads, edging out Charlton 2-1 away in 2025/2026.
- The Addicks haven't won their last home match against the Robins (L1).
No value on the odds for this one
It would be easy to think that this is a tight contest considering Bristol City are such a short price to beat Charlton on Saturday, but we don't see it that way at all. The Addicks have been a tough watch of late, but Nathan Jones has them well drilled in the compact mid-block and they stay relatively organised while looking to hit teams on the break.
Their form reads mixed-to-poor across their last five, but with three draws and two defeats, there's nothing really disastrous there and they've only conceded two goals in that run. It's just that they only have two goals themselves, so the result was inevitable in their most recent matches: a 0-0 home draw with Portsmouth and a 3-1 away loss to Cardiff City. The attack just doesn't spark.
Skubala’s men are a high-energy team
Michael Skubala has Bristol City playing on their front foot, running a high-energy 4-2-3-1 and pressing high to try and force turnovers in the opposition half. It's a tactic that has paid off most of the time, but not all the time of late, as they followed up a 1-0 home win over Watford with a 1-0 home loss to Lincoln City and a 4-1 defeat away to Southampton.
So, this game looks as though it could be a bit of a tug-of-war with the low-risk, compact Charlton side up against a higher-tempo pressing game of Bristol City. It could get a bit cagey and Under 2.5 goals at 3/4 looks a smart choice in the alternate market.
Skubala’s team have a slight edge
Bristol City are the slight favourites to win this Championship game, but we feel Charlton should be able to make a game of it at home. The Valley has been a fortress so far in 2026/2027 with the Addicks unbeaten in four games, registering two wins and two draws.
However, they have conceded just one goal across those games, while Bristol City's away record in the Championship is two wins, one draw and a loss from four matches. So, although the visitors travel well, they're by no means perfect.
The correct score prediction would lean to the draw, but we're going with a 1-0 Bristol City win in the correct score market as Charlton have failed to win their last home meeting against the Robins and Skubala's side have a touch more quality.
Ballard the main man for Bristol
Dominic Ballard has been the main threat for the visitors with three goals in eight Championship games, but chief creator Rio Cardines has been the key to their success with six assists in his eight games.
Charlton's top man is Tyreece Campbell, who has four goals in the Championship to his name from eight matches, but the 24-year-old has been on the scoresheet in two of the last five fixtures and has scored both of their two goals across their last five games.
That's why we're backing a single goal for Bristol City here, as this looks like it will be a close encounter.
