Harborough Town are on a high
Having secured the Southern League Premier Division Central 2025-2026 title, the pressure is off for Harborough Town and it has certainly shown in recent performances. Their manager has overseen a red-hot three-game winning streak that has included a 5-1 thrashing of Banbury United at home and a 3-1 success at Halesowen Town last time out.
This is no fluke for Harborough, who are the most aggressive and relentless team in the division. Their manager has created a high-octane machine that can suffocate opponents with their high-press, high defensive line and lightning-fast wide transitions. With the title already secured, Harborough should show their class in this fixture, but Stortford will test their resolve.
Steve Castle’s men prefer to be compact and organised and tend to play through a structure-first style of football. They will set up a compact defensive block and look to disrupt their hosts and hurt them on the break and from set piece situations.
Stortford need to defend well
Frank Norris has been the only real bright spot in Stortford’s season, netting two of their last three league goals, but his ability to score will be severely tested on Saturday. The visitors are 15th in the table with just 48 points from 40 games, and their away form has been particularly dismal with just four wins, seven draws and eight defeats from 19 away fixtures.
It’s a mystery why the bookies rate Harborough at a short 11/50 here, as Stortford are massive underdogs at 13/2 and have every chance of getting something from this fixture. It’s a clash of styles, but the hosts should have enough to win, provided they can break through the disciplined low block of the visitors.
Going for goals
Harborough Town have conceded just 13 goals in 20 home league games and are rock-solid when they need to be, but the pressure is on them to win this game and Stortford will make them work for it.
Bishop's Stortford have shipped 29 goals across their 19 league away games this season, so the Over 2.5 goals market at 19/50 looks enticing.
