- Huddersfield Town are unbeaten at home in League One 2026/2027 (W4, D2).
- Luton Town have won four of their last five games, including their last three consecutively.
- Huddersfield have scored 2.50 and conceded 1.00 goals per home game in League One 2026/2027, whilst Luton have scored 2.40 and conceded 2.60 per away game.
Two promotion-chasing outfits with different identities
Huddersfield Town have a great opportunity to maintain their position at the top of the League One 2026/2027 table when they welcome 8th-placed Luton Town to the John Smith's Stadium, England on Tuesday.
The Terriers have won four and drawn one of their last five league games and come into this fixture on the back of a three-game winning streak. Martin Drury has really turned the Terriers into an efficient football side since his appointment on 1st July 2026 and he has the side scoring and conceding goals.
Huddersfield are scoring 2.50 goals per game at home in League One 2026/2027 and have conceded just one per game. They've beaten Peterborough United 4-1 and Wigan Athletic 2-1 here in the league and come into this with real momentum.
Luton Town arrive in equally good form having won their last three games and four of their last five, so they can certainly make a strong case for an upset at 11/5. Jack Wilshere has certainly had a positive impact on the club since his arrival as manager on 13th October 2025 and his side have a very clear identity as a team that likes to play from the back and press aggressively.
A potential cracker in the making
This fixture could easily turn into an absolute cracker given the differing identities of these two promotion-chasing outfits. Drury's 3-4-2-1 system makes use of wing-backs to press high and play direct wing-play, whilst Wilshere's Luton are a much more possession-based team that builds from the back and presses aggressively. That contrast could open this game up considerably, but Huddersfield have the home advantage. Huddersfield are the slight favourites at 51/50, but Luton's form means this feels anything but a home banker to us. There's enough to suggest that this game could have goals at both ends, though, so we're having a flutter on over 2.5 goals at 1/2, whilst both teams to score at 11/25 looks like a good option given both are strong going forward and Luton are leaky at the back on their travels.
Huddersfield have the edge
Huddersfield have looked the more likely winner in recent games and will arrive here with confidence. The draw at 57/20 looks a little short to us, however, and this is a game that Huddersfield should be edging.
Joe Taylor leads the scoring charts for Huddersfield with five goals in seven League One 2026/2027 appearances and the pacy attacker looks sharp in front of goal. Luton have Nahki Wells to call upon as their top scorer, the veteran forward has four goals in his seven appearances and can be a reliable outlet in the penalty box for the Hatters.
