- Wycombe have won two of the last three head-to-heads, with Burton winless in their last two trips to the Adams Park.
- Wycombe have conceded 12 goals at home in League One 2026/2027, averaging 2.00 goals per-game.
- Burton have conceded 9 away goals in League One 2026/2027, at an average of 1.50 goals per-game.
Tom Hounsell’s Chairboys are on the up
Wycombe Wanderers come into this Saturday's clash with Burton Albion on the back of two stalemates following their 2-0 home win over Notts County. The Chairboys drew 2-2 at Cambridge United and were held 1-1 away to AFC Wimbledon, but Tom Hounsell's side look to have a little more momentum following the home win.
Hounsell took the hot seat on 8 September 2026, and the high-energy and proactive style he's brought to the club has given them a new look on the field. The Chairboys are set up in a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 formation that allows their wing-backs to overload in wide areas, while the central trio can link quickly to switch the angle of attack.
With Jayden Wareham in particularly prolific form, the hosts have had a man in form to finish off the chances they've created. The ex-Forest Green striker has scored three goals in four games in League One 2026/2027 and looks sharp in front of goal at the moment.
Burton's away record of two wins, one draw and three defeats is only slightly better than Wycombe's home record of one win, three draws and two defeats in 2026/2027. They've been in good form overall though, taking two wins, two draws and one defeat from their last five league games.
Burton can hold up their end of the bargain
Burton have drawn 2-2 at Peterborough United, held Bradford City to a 0-0 draw at the Pirelli Stadium and beat Leyton Orient 2-1 in their three most recent league games. That's a solid run of form, but The Brewers are likely to be second best at Wycombe on Saturday.
Gary Bowyer's side have been a far more structured and disciplined unit since he was appointed head coach on 17 December 2024. Burton set up in a back three, preferring to sit deep and clog up the middle in order to counter-attack or play off set-piece scenarios.
Jack Armer is the team's top scorer with three goals in eight League One 2026/2027 appearances and Burton's back three have been a reliable source for the team this season.
Wycombe to edge it in a tight match
The clash of styles should lead to some exciting wing battles and transition opportunities, with Wycombe looking to speed up the game and Burton aiming to slow it down.
The home side are the clear favourite here at 63/100, with Burton coming in at 4/1 and the draw 29/10. That looks fair enough given the recent form of both sides, but we like the odds on the away win and the two teams could easily cancel each other out in another league one draw.
Over 2.5 goals at 7/10 appeals for a game that will suit both teams, while both teams to score at 7/10 seems likely given Burton's recent penchant for getting on the scoresheet. Wycombe look slightly more likely to edge it and are worth a small bet in the outright market, but we're sticking with the draw for the main selection in this one.
