Foxes on thin ice
Hull City are a good enough bet to take all three points in a must-win match for both these sides at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium on Tuesday.
The Tigers are 5/2 outsiders for the game, but their superior league position, strong head-to-head record and dynamic away style make us think they could nick this one.
Leicester City are 23rd in the Championship with just 41 points from 42 games, but they are still in a dogfight to avoid relegation. Manager Gary Rowett was appointed to steady the ship in February 2026, but the Foxes remain in a relegation fight.
Rowett’s preferred style is a controlled, possession-based approach where Leicester overload the midfield to try to create chances in the opposition box.
Tigers can catch a Fox
Hull City’s philosophy is very different, with manager Sergej Jakirovic bringing a high-energy, vertical approach to the club since his appointment in June 2025. His players press high up the field and like to attack quickly, playing through the middle or the half-spaces when they have the ball.
This clash of styles could suit the visitors more than the Foxes as Hull have a squad that can play at pace and, if the Tigers can get the ball back quickly when they lose it, they could expose the gaps in Leicester’s defence.
Hull are sixth in the Championship standings with 68 points from 42 matches and are solid in the playoff race. Jakirovic’s pressing and attack-on-the-break style have worked well for the club in the second half of the season, keeping Hull in the hunt for the top six.
Foxes have shaky home form
Hull have not won in their last three away games, with two defeats and a draw, but Leicester have failed to get the better of the Tigers in their last home game against them.
The home side’s recent form at the King Power is also a concern for the home team, with no win and two losses in their last three and just seven wins and nine defeats in 21 home games in the Championship to date.
Oli McBurnie is Hull City’s top marksman this season with 14 goals from 33 Championship matches, but Leicester’s Jordan James is the top scorer this season with 10 in 30 games.
