- Team form: Leicester have failed to win their last 3 home Championship matches, losing 2.
- Away form: Hull have won 10 and drawn 4 of their 21 away games in the Championship this season, losing 7.
Foxes can be caught in their own half by Tigers
Leicester City are in freefall in the Championship table, sitting 23rd in the table with only 41 points from 42 games. Gary Rowett has steadied the ship somewhat since he took over in February 2026, but the last five games have been a step backward in the East Midlands club’s fight for survival.
Leicester are winless in this sequence (D3, L2) and, with no win in their last three at the King Power Stadium (D1, L2), they are not strong favourites to see off an improving Hull City on Tuesday. Hull are 6th in the Championship with 68 points from 42 matches, comfortably in the playoff race.
The Tigers’ form is a bit mixed heading into this game, with one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five Championship games, but they have won two and drawn one of the previous three Championship head-to-head encounters. Having beaten the Foxes 2-1 at this venue five months ago, they will be up for this one, especially given Leicester’s current lack of confidence.
Hull have more going for them than their odds suggest
Tactical differences
Rowett is not an expansive or adventurous manager, preferring to keep things simple and controlled, while Sergej Jakirovic has brought a completely different style of play since taking over as Hull boss in June 2025.
Jakirovic sets his teams up to press high, transition quickly from defence to attack and to attack directly down the middle and in the half-spaces. Leicester are more about midfield overloads and structured build-up play, which can leave them vulnerable when up against a side as vertical and energetic as Hull.
Betting angles
With the Tigers coming in at 3.5 for the win, there is plenty of value on the visitors to take all three points in this crucial fixture.
- Backing Hull to win is our primary recommendation for this game, although we also like the look of Patson Daka to score any time.
- The Zambian forward has scored two of Leicester’s last four goals and seems to be playing with some confidence right now, although Hull’s Oli McBurnie is our choice as an anytime goalscorer because of his prolific record for the club this term.
