Swans can swim up to the surface with a victory
Swansea City should have enough quality and experience to swim up to the top of the table with victory over Lincoln City in Saturday's Championship 2026/2027 match at LNER Stadium.
The Swans are second with 14 points from seven games and the Imps are down in 16th with eight from six. Vitor Matos's side are clearly superior to Lincoln and arrive at LNER off the back of a good performance in their 3-1 home win over Burnley.
Vitor Matos has got Swansea playing a structured 4-3-3 with a lot of control on the ball, selective pressing and a disciplined midfield. The Swans' build-up play is very neat and they are usually able to take the game to their opponents at this level.
Lincoln will try to make this a game of transition
Lincoln have a slightly different, but equally interesting system. Chris Cohen sets his team up in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system that is based on quick transitions, aggressive counter-pressing and dangerous set pieces. The Imps have two wins, two draws and a defeat in their last five, so form isn't particularly good, but they are fresh from a 1-0 Championship win at Preston.
This clash of styles should make it a bit of a chess match in transition with Lincoln hunting turnovers and Swansea trying to control the tempo. Adam Idah is the Championship 2026/2027's leading scorer for the Welsh club with two goals in six and they look the more likely winners at 73/50, although the market suggests this could be a cagey game with Lincoln coming in at 43/25 and the draw at 47/20.
Backing under 2.5 goals at 93/100 should be a smarter play as it allows for the possibility of Swansea dominating and Lincoln being patient in trying to nick a goal. Reach is the most likely source of a goal for the home team with one goal in five games, but Adam Idah is the best bet to get the game's only goal on Saturday.
