- Real Sociedad have won two and lost three of their last five matches.
- Deportivo A Coruna have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five fixtures.
- Real Sociedad's home form is 1-1-1, while Deportivo are unbeaten on the road (W1, D2) in LaLiga 2026/2027.
Goals look likely at the Reale Arena
Real Sociedad play in Sunday's LaLiga 2026/2027 fixture at Reale Arena. Imanol Alguacil's side have been erratic on all fronts this season, however, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is a tough test for Txuri-urdin.
Sociedad have one win and two defeats in their last three matches, with that run starting with a 1-2 home loss to Bournemouth in the UEFA Europa League, followed by a 3-2 away win at Valencia in LaLiga, and a 0-1 home defeat to Athletic Bilbao in a friendly.
Their home results have let them down and it could well be the same this weekend when they face a Dépor side who are in reasonable form and have proven their ability to go and get a result away.
Sociedad have a scoring edge, but Dépor have been effective on the counter
Real Sociedad sit 8th in the LaLiga 2026/2027 standings with 10 points from seven games, but they are level on points with 7th-placed Deportivo and there is very little between these two clubs right now. It is a mid-table clash at best with 10 points each on the board.
Pellegrino Matarazzo has made Real Sociedad a higher-tempo, vertical side that presses and transitions quickly, while Antonio Hidalgo's men are much more pragmatic, compact and counter-oriented. This could be a chess match, with Real Sociedad looking to stretch the field and Dépor looking to clog the centre.
Real Sociedad's Luka Sucic is their top LaLiga scorer with three in seven, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Dépor's top scorer with five in seven. Job Ochieng is an interesting player to watch here, however, as the former Tottenham Hotspur star has three assists in four LaLiga appearances this season.
Back the unders in a low-margin contest
The bookies have Real Sociedad as 71/100 favourites to beat Dépor at 71/20, with the draw at 14/5. That's a clear order of favourites, but Sociedad haven't been particularly convincing at home and Dépor's unbeaten away record tells me this will be a competitive game.
Deportivo have scored five times in three LaLiga 2026/2027 away games, so they can certainly get on the scoresheet here, but 1.33 goals per home game isn't an ideal record for Sociedad. Over 2.5 goals at 4/5 looks the cleaner play and both teams to score at 3/4 is another option that has plenty of merit.
