Chess match in prospect at The Raymond McEnhill Stadium
Salisbury FC are set to host Hampton & Richmond Borough ahead of this Saturday's National League South clash at The Raymond McEnhill Stadium in England, but the oddsfavour the London based side.
Salisbury FC are priced at 9/5 for the win, while Alan Dowson's men are a narrow favourite at 5/4. The draw is priced at 23/10, which is an interesting number on the basis that these clubs have split their last four head-to-head contests equally.
The most recent clash finished 1-1 in January 2026 and Salisbury edged their most recent home meeting 2-1 in March 2025. Hampton won the other game 1-0 at Beveree in August 2024, so this should be a tight and tense affair.
Bourbon can still be a draw
Salisbury have had a mixed bag of results in pre-season with a late winner in a 2-1 victory over Horsham at the end of 2025/26, but a 2-1 success against a Stoke City XI in July 2026.
Dutton's side appear to be well set in a 4-2-3-1 structure that allows them to dominate the ball when in possession and press when out of it. There is good width in this team and enough power in the midfield to create chances through it too, but it could be the return of a couple of familiar faces that make the difference on Saturday.
Jaiden Bartolo has already found the net in pre-season. He will be supported by Nathan Odokonyero, who hit a 94th-minute winner in the Horsham game. Noah Coppin also scored in the March 2025 head-to-head, giving Dutton several ways to hurt Hampton.
Hampton have enough quality to pinch this
The visitors have had an excellent pre-season, winning all three of their friendly matches in the July 2026 window. Reece Grego-Cox is the main man for Hampton with the 26-year-old forward finishing 2025/26 with 11 goals in 37 appearances. Grego-Cox can be supported by the energetic Craig Fasanmade and Ronan Silva up top while Harry Gardner and Sam Deadfield can be the engine room that allows Hampton to keep the press going. They will be all over Salisbury's second balls and will be quick to exploit any gaps in the home midfield with balls into the box or on the break. The odds favor both teams to score, which is 31/50, but we're siding with Under 2.5 goals at 93/100 as the main play because we're expecting a tight and scrappy game. A draw, or as near as possible to it, looks the most likely outcome of this clash with a 1-1 result or one-goal away win the sharpest calls in the correct score market.
