Sides meet for the first time in the World Cup
Portugal's unbeaten run extended to five matches with their draw in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group K opener and they now sit third in the group with one point.
Colombia are top of the group with three points from their opening fixture and are in great form, winning each of their three previous fixtures, while Daniel Munoz made an instant impression for them with a goal in their first game.
It's never a bore when these two meet
This is the first ever World Cup meeting between Colombia and Portugal but it's difficult to split these two teams based on their respective form and odds of 2.02 for Portugal and 3.8 for Colombia.
Roberto Martinez has done a fantastic job since taking over the reins at the start of January 2023 and his teams are so much more entertaining to watch in their possession-based 4-3-3 system which can overload players in any area of the pitch.
Joao Neves has been their standout performer so far in the tournament, scoring his first World Cup goal in their opening game in Group K. Pedro Neto also impressed, creating chances throughout the game.
Colombia are a very different beast to Portugal but are equally as efficient as a team. Néstor Lorenzo has overseen the team since June 2022 and their style has been fast, transition-based football with a double pivot shielding the defence.
The wingers are a big part of Colombia's game and they get into dangerous positions with ease, while Gustavo Puerta's clever playmaking was on full show in their opener in Group K, scoring an assist.
Jhon Arias is in top form for Colombia, scoring three goals in his last five appearances, and they are a much more potent team than their first-game opponents Uzbekistan who they beat 3-1 in their away from home opener.
A draw seems likely
Portugal have one win and one draw from their last two away games and will fancy their chances of earning another point in this one. But a draw is not out of the question either and can be backed at 3.45, while the both teams to score market at 1.83 is enticing given both have the firepower to hurt each other.
