- Hans-Dieter Flick's Barcelona are a better team than Real Madrid right now and are very likely to win this match.
- Barca have won five games in a row, including a 4-1 win at Galatasaray and a 5-2 LaLiga win over Real Betis.
- Kylian Mbappe is in top form with seven LaLiga goals in seven games and four of Real Madrid's last 12 goals have been scored by the former PSG and Bayern Munich star.
Flick’s Barca are flying
FC Barcelona are flying and can take another scalp of their arch rivals Real Madrid in what looks a great fixture on paper for El Clásico at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday. Barca have won their last five games in all competitions and have been equally dominant at home in LaLiga 2026/2027, winning all four of their previous games with 17 goals scored.
They are clear favourites for this game at 1.48, which looks about right to us, with Los Merengues available at 4.9 and the draw 5.25. Jose Mourinho's team are in mixed form, but are dangerous, having won four of their last five in all competitions, while they are on a two-game winning streak that saw them come back to win 4-3 away to AS Roma and beat Villarreal 1-0 at home.
The one slip in this recent sequence was a 2-1 defeat at Atletico Madrid and, although the visitors have had two wins and two defeats on the road in LaLiga 2026/2027, they can score goals with 6 goals in total at an average of 1.50 per match.
Mbappe gives Madrid a chance
Kylian Mbappe is in the form of his life and has seven goals in as many LaLiga appearances this season. The French forward can help Los Merengues get on the scoresheet, although there is little doubt that Hans-Dieter Flick's Barcelona are a far better team right now and should secure another El Clásico win.
Barca have beaten Real Madrid twice in a row, winning 2-0 at home in the 2025/2026 LaLiga campaign, while Real are winless in their last away game against their rivals from Catalonia.
Flick has done a great job since May 2024 and his high-line, high-press style is perfectly suited to his talent pool and has allowed Barca to dominate most of their games. But there will be an El Clásico feel to this game with Barca looking to play a possession-based, territorial game while Madrid will set up to be compact and hit on the counter.
Barca can edge it
Raphinha has been Barca's spearhead in the first 27 points of their 2026/2027 LaLiga campaign, netting 12 goals in just seven games, and is the cleanest finisher in a team packed with creativity and flair.
Lamine Yamal has been the creator, in particular, for Barca. The 16-year-old Spanish talent has eight assists in his last five appearances and can always be relied upon to find the gaps and spaces in the opposition defence.
Barca should edge this one, but the transition threat from Real Madrid should keep it competitive for a while and make it worth backing over 2.5 goals at 1.22 and both teams to score at 1.33.
