- Fulham have won one of their last three home matches, while Manchester United have won none of their last two away matches, so the hosts have a slight edge.
- Manchester United have won three of the last five meetings between the two clubs, Fulham have won once, and one has been a draw.
Red Devils face a real test in Fulham
Manchester United are 13th in the Premier League 2026/2027 with four points from four games after four games of the new season and that return is hardly a good one. However, it does put them three points ahead of Fulham, who sit in 18th after a poor start. Already, the pressure is building for the Cottagers after they have picked up only one point from their first four matches of the campaign.
United are favourites to win Sunday's game at 1.97, with the hosts going off at 3.45 and the draw at 3.7. Those odds suggest this is going to be a tight match and it will probably be a scrappy Premier League affair at Craven Cottage.
The Red Devils come into the game after a 4-0 home victory over Sabah FK in the UEFA Champions League League Stage 2026/2027, but they were also beaten 0-1 at home by Manchester City in their previous Premier League 2026/2027 outing. And they have one draw and one defeat from their two away Premier League matches this term, so the travelling is not going well for United.
Cottagers have been hard to nail down
Fulham have also been erratic this term, losing 2-3 at home to Crystal Palace in their Premier League 2026/2027 game, then drawing 0-0 away to Liverpool. Álvaro Arbeloa has led the club since 8 July 2026 and has got them set up in a compact 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Michael Carrick has been at the helm of the Red Devils since 13 January 2026 and he likes to build the game up from the back, work the ball around in the third man, and then release players over the top in bursts.
Red Devil can edge it by a narrow margin
United have the better of the recent head-to-head between the clubs, having won the last meeting 3-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League 2025/2026 seven months ago. Fulham have failed to win either of their two previous home games against United and we are going to back the visitors to edge this one.
Both teams have been leaking goals, however. Fulham are averaging 2.00 goals scored per game in the Premier League 2026/2027, but have shipped too many with four conceded and zero clean sheets. United are averaging 1.00 goal scored and 2.00 conceded away from home, which also suggests this will be an open game.
A bet on over 2.5 goals at 1.57 is attractive given the attacking talent on both sides, while both teams to score at 1.5 is also solid. United can edge it, however, as Joshua King has been the spark in Fulham's play with two goals in four Premier League 2026/2027 appearances. He needs service to make the most of his chances, which United can deny.
Bruno Fernandes has been United's danger man with three goals in three games in the Premier League 2026/2027, and he has also contributed four goals to United's last 11 in all competitions, so we will back him to score anytime on Sunday.
