- Querétaro have the better record in all competitions, winning eight of the last 15 meetings with Juárez (D4, L3).
- Juárez are the slight bookies’ favourites at 2.32, Querétaro are 2.88 and the draw 3.45, so it’s a fine line and it could go either way.
- Juárez are currently in better form and position in the Clausura 2026 table.
Mid-table clash has plenty to play for
In the cold light of day, there’s little to suggest that Wednesday’s Liga MX clash at Estadio La Corregidora is anything more than a match between a struggling Querétaro (17th with 8 points) and Juárez (10th with 14 points) in the Clausura.
Querétaro have been the clearly better side over the years, with the head-to-head record in all competitions reading eight wins, four draws and three defeats in the last 15 games. But Juárez have been the sharper outfit in 2026, winning three, drawing one and losing only one of their last five, compared to Querétaro’s three defeats and two draws over the same number of fixtures.
There’s certainly no major rivalry between these two clubs from different regions of Mexico, but the identity of the two managers, the tactical chess matchup and what’s at stake make this a intriguing fixture. The hosts will see it as a crucial six-pointer in their fight for survival while the visitors will also be desperate for the win to boost their Liguilla ambitions.
Queretaro are the more creative and Juarez the more clinical
Gallos Blancos Queretaro boss Esteban González has tried to implement a clear defensive structure and style of play that includes medium to high collective pressing since his appointment in December 2025. They can play a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system and have plenty of creativity in their squad, but have been unable to convert it into enough points so far this season.
Santiago Homenchenko is their most creative player and veteran Ángel Sepúlveda provides an experienced and reliable forward presence, but they’ve only scored twice and conceded eight in their last five league games. Juarez have been more clinical, getting goals from an infusion of experience in the winter transfer window and the clinical finishing of the likes of Ettson Ayón.
The hosts are 17th with eight points on the board in the Clausura 2026, while Juarez are 10th with 14 and pushing for a finals spot. Pedro Caixinha’s side, who the Portuguese coach has been in charge of since December 2025, are much more structured and pragmatic, operating a 4-2-3-1 and setting up in a very compact mid-block that can spring the opponents by being very sharp in the transition from defense to attack.
Both teams to score is the safest bet
Both sides are without major injury absences, but the midweek timing of this game could see some rotation in their line-ups and we don’t expect a high-scoring game. Recent Liga MX meetings have been tight, but Querétaro have edged Juárez in three of the last four encounters, including a 2-1 away win in November 2025.
We’ll take Juárez to squeeze out a narrow victory as they are in better overall form, but the value lies in the Both teams to score - Yes market at 1.65. The game could be a bit choppy with the home team battling for survival and the visitors eager to close in on a finals place, so we’re recommending a 1-1 or 1-2 Juárez result in the correct score market.
