- Head-to-head: Querétaro have the overall advantage in all-competitions H2H record (W8, D4, L3, last 15 meetings) and won 2-1 at Juárez in November 2025.
- Form/position: Juárez are in better form and higher in the table (10th vs 17th) than Querétaro, but the bookmakers only make them narrow favorites for Wednesday’s game.
- Context: Both teams have good reasons to be positive in this ‘six-pointer’ as Gallos Blancos need the three points more than the visitors do.
All to play for in midweek Mexican showdown
The clubs are not great rivals in the traditional sense, but they appear to be polar opposites in terms of how their coaches and players approach the game and they will be looking to gain valuable points towards their season objectives this Wednesday.
Esteban González has had a tough job to do at the Estadio La Corregidora since taking over in December 2025 as he’s had to instil structure and a sense of identity into his team.
He doesn’t mess around with formations and plays a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, which his side presses from medium-to-high and builds up collectively, while recovering the ball as a unit.
Gallos have played some good soccer at times under González but it hasn’t yet translated into enough points, with the team currently 17th with only 8 points in the Clausura 2026.
- Veteran attacker Ángel Sepúlveda brings experience to the team while Santiago Homenchenko is their most creative force.
- Winter recruit Ettson Ayón has added an extra dimension to their frontline and the combination of some smart experienced arrivals plus a touch of clinical finishing have seen Juárez get on the board in bunches recently.
Tactical chess match in midfield likely
Pedro Caixinha has been more pragmatic since taking over Juárez in December 2025 and his side stick to a 4-2-3-1, setting up with a strong midfield base, disciplined mid-block and then looking to hurt teams on the break with quick transitions.
His team are in much better form than Gallos, taking three wins, a draw and a defeat from their last five, and their recent two wins over América and Tigres.
These two teams should be fresh and ready for this Wednesday’s clash as there are no major injury problems anticipated, although they may both rotate given the congested schedule in Mexico at this time of year. The bookmakers make the visitors very narrow favorites at 2.32, with Querétaro on 2.88 and the draw at 3.45.
Querétaro still have a bit more quality
Gallos haven’t played well in 2026, losing three and drawing two of their last five Liga MX matches, scoring only two goals and conceding eight. Juárez are in good form and have an extra gear to their attack, so we’ll back the away side to pull out a 1 - 2 win here.
Both teams to score - Yes is the selection in the main bet at 1.65 as we feel this should be an open and competitive affair with more than a few goals on the horizon. Caixinha’s side are better organised and have better momentum, but the home side have the quality and home field advantage to keep this close.
