- AC Milan have won two of the last five head-to-head meetings, drawn three and been not beaten in the last five.
- AC Milan have won one and lost one of their last two away fixtures.
- Genoa have won four and lost only one of their last five matches in all competitions.
Milan can make it through a tricky trip
Genoa have been in great form in recent weeks, but the visit of AC Milan to Stadio Luigi Ferraris will be a tougher test than any they have faced in their three-game winning streak.
The Rossoneri have been unconvincing in recent times, winning two and losing three of their last five games across all competitions, but they are the clear edge in Serie A 2026-2027 with 21 points from 10 games to take them to fifth in the table, compared to Genoa's 13 points in 11th.
Daniele De Rossi has set up a compact and disciplined 3-4-2-1 system for the Grifone that has real bite when the defence is breached and the wing-backs and two supporting attackers can spring forward to exploit space in transition. Milutin Osmajic is the team's top scorer in Serie A 2026/2027 with two goals in four games and the team are capable of finishing off the chances that they create.
Rúben Amorim's Milan, however, have been pressing higher and building more proactively in 2026-2027 and will probably play a 4-4-1-1 system on Sunday, which should allow them to keep control of the tempo and limit the space that the hosts want to exploit. The Rossoneri have averaged 1.60 goals scored and 1.00 conceded on the road in Serie A 2026/2027, which matches up to a game with goals at both ends.
Rossoneri to return with a positive result
AC Milan have won two of the last five meetings with Genoa and also beat them 2-1 in the away leg of the two sides' fixture five months ago in Serie A 2025/2026. This will keep the visitors in the driver's seat psychologically.
Backing the away side to win here seems the best option with the odds available at 1.74, while the Grifone have failed to win either of their last two home meetings with the Milan club.
Genoa have been in good form, but Milan have shown they can keep them quiet at times with their rotations of Luka Modric and Rabiot through midfield, while Diego Moreira, who has scored three goals in three games for Milan in Serie A 2026/2027, is the hottest attacker in the side at the moment.
Backing both teams to score, listed at 1.9, looks a good option for a game that should have enough of a tempo to see both defences breached, while over 2.5 goals is live at 2.0. Genoa have conceded eight goals in six home league games this season and can be got at by the Milan attack, but their system will also suit them in this fixture, with a 2-1 win away a decent exact score prediction.
