- Como are unbeaten at home in Serie A 2026/2027 (W2, D1), keeping the opposition at bay in their three matches at Stadio G. Sinigaglia.
- Venezia are winless away from home in Serie A 2026/2027, including the last two visits to Como.
- Calcio Como have drawn with SSC Venezia in their last two encounters, the most recent of which came at Stadio G. Sinigaglia in Serie A 2024/2025 (1-1).
Como are in the ascendancy
Cesc Fabregas has the Lariani on the rise. Calcio Como are 4th in Serie A 2026/2027 with 17 points from eight games and they look back on the right side of the form tables having won three, drawn one and lost just one of their last five matches.
Como are in the middle of a three-match winning run that has seen them hammer Manchester United 4-1 in the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League 2026/2027 and beat Sassuolo 2-0 at home in Serie A 2026/2027.
Anastasios Douvikas gives them the edge up top, with the Greek sharp shooter hitting two Serie A goals in five and five of Como's 11 goals in their last five games. But it's their style of play that will make the biggest difference here, Fabregas likes to keep the ball, be patient and build attacks from the back, which keeps the team compact and fluid, difficult to break down and just as difficult to chase if they get in front.
Venezia are still licking their wounds
Venezia are on the opposite end of the table, propping up the Serie A 2026/2027 table with just three points from their opening eight games. I Lagunari have been in mixed to poor form over the past few weeks, with four defeats and one win from their last five, although the win came last time out when they saw off Napoli 1-0 at their own ground.
They lost the following weekend away at Genoa 1-0, so Venezia have hardly been flying recently, but they've got a little more structure since Davide Nicola took over. The Italian has got them to play with a little more pragmatism and they'll look to press the ball hard here and then break quickly to cause problems when they get it back.
Gianluca Busio has two assists in four Serie A appearances for Venezia this term, but Akor Adams is their sharpest finisher with two of I Lagunari's four Serie A goals in their last five coming from his boot.
The draw is tempting but the home side have their number
Como are very short at 3/10 and it's not hard to see why as they've won three of their last five matches and are on a three-game winning streak. Venezia are in the region of 42/5 and the draw sits at 21/5, so there isn't a lot of value to be found in the match result markets.
A smart alternative, however, is to take under 2.5 goals at 17/10, as the head-to-head here tends to be cagey and Venezia haven't won either of their away games against Como. The Lariani should control the game here and their possession-based approach may turn into a chess match against a more direct Venezia, but home advantage should just tip the balance in favour of Fabregas and his men on Sunday.
Como to win is our main selection, as they're on a three-game winning run and will do their best to extend it to four against Venezia, who have failed to win in their two most recent visits to Stadio G. Sinigaglia.
