- Genoa have failed to win either of their last two away matches against Lecce.
- Lecce have won one and lost two of their three home matches in Serie A 2026/2027, conceding eight goals in three games.
- Lecce's Lassana Coulibaly has scored two goals in five matches for them in Serie A 2026/2027.
Giallorossi can be a handful
Lecce will hope that home advantage can help them edge out Genoa in what could be a tight encounter at Stadio Ettore Giardiniero - Via del Mare on Sunday. The Giallorossi have won two and lost three of their last five, which doesn't read as a great sequence, but they have been more than competitive in each game, and that is how they will need to be again here.
They arrive on the back of a 1-2 home defeat to Bologna, but had beaten Udinese 3-0 away, before slipping to a 0-2 defeat at home to Juventus. They will be more positive at home against Genoa and with Eusebio Di Francesco's men set up in a 4-3-3 system, they can be a threat on the counter-attack.
Daniele De Rossi's Genoa have been solid, if unspectacular in Serie A 2026/2027, coming into this match in 16th spot with seven points from eight matches. The Grifone lost 0-2 at AS Roma on the road before beating SSC Venezia 1-0 at home. They have not won any of their three away games so far, losing three times in three, so there is a distinct home-away split to their form.
Midfields will control the tempo
Lorenzo Colombo is an interesting player to watch here, as he has shown some creativity between the lines for Genoa so far with two assists in five Serie A 2026/2027 appearances. Genoa play from a three-at-the-back system, which allows De Rossi to structure his team properly and they usually have good build-up structure and some decent overloads on the flanks.
This clash looks set to be played at two different speeds with Lecce preferring a more direct game, but Genoa are more at ease in possession. It will be the midfield battle that dictates the pace of this match and the odds reflect that, with both sides coming into the matchup at 83/50 and the draw at 43/20.
But the hosts have a little bit of an edge in the head-to-head with one win and one draw from the last two meetings, and a 1-0 home victory in Serie A 2025/2026 five months ago gives them a psychological boost. Under 2.5 goals at 31/50 is the best fit for this fixture, as it is tight at the moment and even if both teams to score is in play at 93/100, we are taking the draw with a chance of a one-goal home win.
Lecce have the late-arrival edge
Lecce's top scorer Lassana Coulibaly has two goals in Serie A 2026/2027 and looks a better bet to score anytime than Genoa's Milutin Osmajic, who leads their scoring with two in four. Di Francesco will get Lecce to press at times and they can nick a goal, but we will settle for a draw, which should still be a good result for the visitors.
