FC Dynamo Kiev are still finding their feet under new coach
FC Dynamo Kiev enter Arena Lublin as the slight favourites after a mixed 5-2-3 run across their last 10 matches in all competitions, however, they have lost two on the bounce coming into Thursday's game.
Ihor Kostiuk, who took over as Dynamo Kiev coach on the 28th November 2025, is yet to stamp his mark on the side, but his style is clear: a vertical, high-intensity 4-3-3 that pushes the tempo, stretches the opposition with the ball and hits them on the counter.
Dynamo have conceded 12 goals across their last 10 games in all competitions, which is a 1.20-per-game concession rate that Qarabag's front line will fancy.
In contrast, FK Qarabag's 4-2-3-1 system is more of a pragmatic setup, sitting in shape and looking to punish opponents for rushing their play with direct counters or set-piece pressure.
Qarabag may have a sharp enough edge to edge this one
Qarabag's recent form looks slightly better than Dynamo's with 3-1-1 over the last five, but they too have lost their most recent game. They were held to a 0-0 draw by CSKA Sofia in the match and were then beaten 1-0 by the same side in UEFA Europa League Qualification 2026, a disappointing result that has slightly cooled their run.
With the stylistic clash on the pitch set to play out like a chess match, Dynamo will try and force chaos, while Qarabag will look to absorb and strike in the spaces left behind.
In that regard, Zakaria Sawo has been Qarabag's spark, he's scored 2 goals in their last 5 and always seems to have his eye on the play when they're on the front foot. With his ability to hit with the decisive touch, Sawo has the potential to make a difference.
Dynamo are the favourites at 3/4 but we think that Qarabag are dangerous enough to at least nick a win or pinch a draw here. They have scored 21 goals across their last 10 in all competitions, a much faster rate of 2.10 per game than Dynamo and that should be enough to see them get something.
