- FC Porto won in four of the last five head-to-heads in all competitions and was only beaten once.
- FC Porto have won seven of their last ten matches in all competitions.
- Estoril Praia have failed to win either of their last two trips to Porto.
Plenty of goals expected at the Dragao
Porto should have too much quality for Estoril Praia to handle on Saturday, and while the home side are the heavy 1/5 favourites to win, the odds on the draw are a massive 33/5, which looks like the best alternative if you don't want to get on the bandwagon.
The home team have certainly had the better of this fixture in recent years, but the Canarinhos have been on a rough spell of just one win from the last ten in all competitions, which is sure to have dented any momentum they had during a promising start to the season.
That poor run includes a 2-1 away defeat to Académico Viseu in the Primeira Liga last weekend, followed by a 1-1 draw away to SC Salgueiros, with a penalty shootout win in the Taça de Portugal the only bright spot during that time.
Canarinhos have lost their bite
Leandro Pires has led Estoril since 16 October 2026, and his side looks more pragmatic, compact, and built to nick chances in transition. But that's exactly what Francesco Farioli has done with Porto since taking over as manager on 6 July 2025. He has implemented a possession-first 4-3-3 system that allows them to control the tempo of the game and also to press with real aggression when out of possession. It all points towards Porto controlling this game and ultimately taking the points, while the Canarinhos will try to stay narrow and spring counters when gaps open.
Estoril’s away record does not inspire confidence
Estoril's recent away record in all competitions has been one win and four defeats from five, which is well below average and suggests they will be in trouble here.
Porto have won two and lost two of their four home games in all competitions, so they've been solid but not untouchable at the Estadio do Dragao.
They've also won three, drawn none and lost two of their last five in all competitions, so the Dragões will need to avoid any slip-ups in a match where they should control the build-up and press Estoril back.
Rafik Guitane has been the Canarinhos' biggest threat in recent weeks and his two goals make up two-thirds of the total they've scored in their last five, so he'll be a key man to watch here.
Thus a win to nil is our main selection here and at a small stake, there's some value in backing the favourites to justify their odds.
