- Head-to-head: FC Porto have won four of the last five head-to-head meetings in all competitions.
- Porto form: FC Porto have won seven of their last ten matches in all competitions.
- Estoril form: Estoril Praia have won one of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Estoril’s momentum is all wrong
Estoril's struggles
A run of one win from their last 10 in all competitions is not the sort of momentum that Estoril Praia can rely upon to get a result at Estádio do Dragão on Saturday when they come up against a much better side in FC Porto. Estoril's record of one win, one draw and three defeats from their last five matches is not much of an improvement on the previous five matches.
Leandro Pires has been at the helm since 16 October 2026 and the Canarinhos are becoming a more pragmatic and compact unit, one that seems to be set up to pounce when opportunities present themselves on the counterattack.
Porto's system
Porto's record of two wins and two defeats from four home games in all competitions suggests that the Dragões can be pushed back, but Francesco Farioli's side have been in charge since 6 July 2025 and have created a possession-based, 4-3-3 system that is as adept at dictating tempo as it is pressing with aggression.
Key threat
Rafik Guitane has been Estoril's biggest threat in recent weeks, scoring two of their three goals in the last five games, but he won't get much space to cut loose unless Estoril keep this a real scrap.
Home win is expected
The odds of 1.2 for Porto make little sense for this matchup, while the 7.6 price on the draw looks very interesting indeed.
The home win should eventually be secured in the fullness of time, but only if Estoril can make this a real contest.
Porto's superior quality should be evident if it becomes a match of open spaces and Estoril have failed to win on their two most recent visits to Porto, in a run that dates back to six months ago in the Primeira Liga.
Porto won 3-1 on that occasion and will again have to show some class here, but we're expecting a Porto win to nil to fit the script best of all and the favourite should have far too much quality for Estoril to deal with on the night.
- Porto's last three matches have been a 3-2 UEFA Champions League defeat to Real Betis, a 0-1 defeat at home to PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League league phase, and a 0-1 away win against Gil Vicente in the Primeira Liga.
- Estoril's last two have been a 2-1 defeat away to Académico Viseu in the Primeira Liga followed by a 1-1 draw with SC Salgueiros, with Estoril going on to win the penalty shootout in the Taça de Portugal.
