- Real Salt Lake have won two and lost two of their last five fixtures.
- FC Dallas have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five.
- Real Salt Lake have only lost one of their eight home MLS 2026 fixtures, averaging 2.25 goals per game scored and 1.00 per game conceded.
Western Conference rivals set for close contest
A close contest is expected when Western Conference battlers Real Salt Lake host FC Dallas in a fixture that looks very evenly poised on the table.
The hosts are 9th in MLS 2026 with 27 points from 17 games, while Dallas are just behind in 10th with the same number of points from 18 matches.
A win for either team would be huge and both arrive here on the back of two-game winning streaks in all competitions.
Dallas can deliver a heavy blow
Just three months ago in MLS 2026, Dallas won 3-1 at home against RSL and the visitors should be able to deliver a few body blows of their own at America First Field on Thursday.
Pablo Mastroeni took charge of the Claret and Cobalt in August 2021 and has created a high-energy team that can be as compact as any in the MLS 2026 when needed, then spring forward in seconds with their 3-5-2 system.
New Dallas coach Eric Quill, appointed in November 2024, has Dallas playing bold and aggressive.
Both will line up with a back three and look to make the wingback duels and the battles for the half-spaces the key factor in determining the tempo of this match.
RSL edge it in home environment
RSL will start as favourites at 1.9, with Dallas 3.5 and the draw 3.9, but those prices are too short for a match that looks very even.
The home advantage should just about be enough for RSL to nick the win, however, and we are taking them to do just that in what should be a lively MLS game.
A 2-1 scoreline is taken in correct score betting because both teams will obviously be up for the win, but Dallas have conceded only nine goals on the road in nine games, averaging 1.00 per match.
Over 2.5 goals at 1.5 looks like a tasty alternative here, especially given RSL have averaged 2.25 goals for and 1.00 against at home, while Both Teams To Score at 1.45 also has merit.
Sergi Solans is RSL's danger man with seven goals in 17 MLS 2026 matches, but he has five of their 13 strikes in the last five games. Petar Musa is the Dallas talisman with 13 in 16 MLS 2026 games and he can be the difference in a close match-up.
