New England have the edge but D.C. are the value
René Weiler's D.C. United have been very consistent in the second half of the season, grinding out results but lacking the final third bite to secure full points. The results from their latest three are 1-1 away at Houston, 2-1 home against Toronto and 2-2 at home to Nashville, which is a grinder's run.
New England Revolution have been a bit more up and down with a 2-2 draw at CF Montreal followed by a 2-0 home defeat to Houston, so the momentum is with D.C. for this one. The Revolution are having a decent season, though, and have the better of the recent head-to-head with two straight wins over Weiler's men.
Washington have been better at Audi Field, where they have won three, drawn three and lost three in nine MLS 2026 matches, averaging 1.67 goals for and 2.11 against. That's a decent return up front, but doesn't inspire confidence at the back.
Marko Mitrović’s men could be tough to break down
Marko Mitrović is moulding New England into a possession-first side that builds from the back four with a 4-2-3-1 shape and selective pressing from the front three. The main weapon is Carles Gil, who has seven goals in 18 MLS 2026 appearances and two of them have come in the last five.
We're taking the hosts to nick this one at 2.0, although there is plenty of value in the draw at 3.65 and the odds also favour New England at 3.35.
This will be a battle of structure against ball control and the team which gets the better of the midfield space should come out on top. That looks like it will be D.C. United, but given they are unbeaten in five and the Revolution have lost two of their last five, we're going for a close win to the home side.
Both teams to score, at 1.55, and Over 2.5 goals at 1.65 is also the play here because this could be a lively scrap.
