- Ilves Tampere's overall form is poor, with no wins in their last five matches and only three defeats (W0, D2, L3).
- FC Differdange 03 come into this game in better shape with three wins, one draw and one defeat in their last five games.
- Ilves are the bookies' favourites to win the match at 11/20, while Differdange are 111/20 and the draw is priced at 3/1.
Fine line between two sides
This fixture is all to play for after a 0-0 draw in the first leg of this UEFA Conference League Qualification 2026 tie, and both sides have some clear attacking strengths to fall back on.
For Ilves, who have been unbeaten in their five home games (W4, D1), the pace and intelligence of Jardell Kanga has been a revelation. The number 10 is the driving force behind their attacks and has netted three of their seven goals in their last five fixtures, so stop him and you stop them.
However, FC Differdange 03 are a force to be reckoned with in their own right and are clearly in better form. The Luxembourg side beat FC Victoria Rosport 4-1 in the Coupe de Luxembourg after a 0-0 away draw at Ilves in the last round. Their only slip between those two fixtures was a 1-0 defeat to Atert Bissen.
Differdange have momentum
Their results across all competitions paint an equally positive picture for Pedro Resende's men, who have six wins, two draws and two defeats in their last 10 matches, so they are on a better run than the Finns.
Ilves, who have four wins, two draws and four defeats during the same period, are the favourites but the visitors have the momentum and that's what could make this game a little more interesting than the first instalment.
Resende's back three, wing-back system is designed to press the opposition high up the pitch. But they will have to be wary of Ilves' compact midfield game.
Visitors can get a foothold in tie
Camilo Speranza's 4-3-5 system is a little more attack-minded and could suit this fixture as they will need to find the width to get past Differdange's narrow midfield. Ilves will try to play fast and vertical to counter the visitors, who could take advantage of that if they are in control of the game.
Andreas Buch is the danger man for Differdange, who have scored nine goals in their last five, as he's bagged three of those. So it wouldn't be a huge shock to see Ilves win narrowly and take the tie, but this is likely to be another cagey affair.
A win for the home side or a repeat draw is our preferred bet, while under 2.5 goals looks a smart play given how the tie has unfolded so far.
