- NSÍ Runavík are unbeaten in four home fixtures in all competitions (W3, D1), conceding only one goal in the four matches.
- Hamrun Spartans FC have won two and lost three of their last five away matches in all competitions, letting in eight goals (1.60 per game).
- NSÍ Runavík's three most recent results were a 1-0 home win over B68 Toftir, a 3-3 draw away to Víkingur Gota and a 0-0 draw at KI Klaksvík.
Spartans are a streaky side
NSÍ Runavík host Hamrun Spartans FC in this UEFA Conference League qualification battle on Thursday and the early odds make the Faroe Island side the favourites to progress.
NSÍ are listed at 8/5 for the win, with the Maltese side coming in at 3/2 and the draw at 12/5, which seems to be pricing the contest tightly with a slight preference for the home side. This could be a close match and it could easily go to the Spartans if they show up on the day, but our belief is that NSÍ will make it awkward for the away side at the Runavik Stadium on Thursday.
Stefano Sanderra took over as Hamrun coach on 26 June 2026 and he has an early mandate to tighten up this side after the previous coach's exit. He has seen his team win two of their last five matches, losing four times in their last ten, so he will be optimistic about a trip to the Faroe Islands.
NSÍ are a different proposition at home
Spartans' last three games have been indicative of the kind of streaky side they are - a 3-0 win over Naxxar Lions, a 4-1 away win at Floriana and then a 2-1 defeat at Valletta. NSÍ, by contrast, have been more solid of late, avoiding defeat in four of their last five games, although their results have been a mixed bag with two wins, two draws and a defeat.
The two setups should make for an intriguing tactical battle with NSÍ likely to be compact and direct in their 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 systems, whereas Hamrun are a more structured 3-5-2 side that will use wing-backs, positional discipline and coordinated pressing triggers.
Back the draw and under 2.5 goals
NSÍ's home record suggests they are a very different proposition when playing on their own patch and, although they have had more wins than defeats in their recent overall record, they are unbeaten in their last four at home. Hamrun's away record in all competitions is a little shakier with two wins and three defeats in the last five and eight goals conceded.
The goal average looks right to us for the under 2.5 market, which seems a sensible alternative to the match betting at these close odds. We're not sure the hosts will run away with it, but they will be a problem for the visitors on the night.
