D.C. United’s danger man is on a roll
D.C. United and Toronto FC have been two of the worst clubs in the MLS 2026 campaign with the hosts sitting 19th with 18 points from 15 games and the visitors 25th on 15 points from the same number of matches.
Neither club has produced much for punters to get stuck into this season, with D.C. United coming into Saturday's clash in mixed form with one win, three draws and one defeat in their last five, but they are unbeaten in their last two.
Toronto FC, by contrast, have had a tough spell with zero wins, one draw and four defeats from their last five games.
Two teams that leaky plenty
Toronto FC's last two matches have been a 2-1 away defeat to Chicago Fire and a 0-0 draw with CF Montreal, but the previous match before that was a 2-0 win in the corresponding match to this one in MLS 2025. So there is a tight record of one win each and one draw in the last three meetings between the clubs and Toronto will like their chances of getting something here. D.C. United's last three matches have been a 1-3 home defeat to the same Chicago Fire FC team that beat Toronto FC 2-1 last time out, a 1-1 home draw with St. Louis City and a wild 4-4 draw with CF Montreal. A lot of these games have featured three or more goals, so we are looking at a Both Teams To Score - Yes play at around the 31/50 mark here, which certainly fits both teams' leaky defensive numbers.
Two different styles of play
Louis Munteanu has scored four of D.C. United's 10 goals in their last five matches so he is one of the few players that René Weiler can rely upon to provide a spark up front.
Toronto FC have had some contributions from Emilio Aristizabal in their most recent five games with two of their five goals in that spell coming from him, but they could do with someone to match Salloi at the other end of the pitch.
This has the look of a stretch-vs-compress affair with Robin Fraser's men pressing hard and high to force turnovers and D.C. United looking to stay compact and transition quickly. The home team are more likely to win this game on paper, but Toronto FC's away form is good enough to beat the odds on offer here while the draw at 27/10 looks the most obvious play to us with these clubs looking more closely matched than the 21/25 home favourites might suggest.
