Betis look likely to edge it at La Cartuja
Real Betis are the standout 1.85 favourites to defeat Getafe in this Thursday's LaLiga 2026/2027 encounter at Estadio de La Cartuja, and although Los Verdiblancos are undoubtedly a worthy selection at the price, we think it might be safer to play the draw at 3.3.
There's a touch of Getafe about the Azulones this season and they have the bite to keep this fixture on the upset path, while the Under 2.5 goals market at 1.62 also looks a strong contender.
Manuel Pellegrini has stamped his mark on this Betis team since taking over in August 2020, when he encouraged his charges to dictate the pace through the midfield and build up in a patient manner. Pepe Bordalas has Getafe pressing, running and fighting for every ball they can get at in a completely contrasting game plan that has seen the side do quite well since he took over in April 2023.
Getafe can be dangerous, but lack final third quality
Betis have made a top-four start to the LaLiga 2026/2027 season with nine points from their first four games, while Getafe are 15th with four points from as many games.
Bordalas' side lost 1-0 to Osasuna in LaLiga last weekend and followed up with a 1-1 draw against Celta, which wasn't much of a recovery after a 2-1 defeat to Partizan Belgrade. They have won two, drawn one and lost two of their five matches in all competitions, so there's no clear form line to follow, but they haven't really looked like they could cause Betis problems.
Rodrigo Riquelme leads Betis' scoring charts in LaLiga with two goals in four matches, but Marc Bartra has three of their goals across the side's last five fixtures. Enes Unal has Getafe's solitary goal in four LaLiga fixtures so far, but has two of their strikes in their last five games, so the Turkish forward is probably the biggest threat to the Betis goal.
Los Verdiblancos have shown their mettle in recent wins
While there's little to choose between the sides on the basis of the stats and results, Betis' last two games - a 1-0 win over Real Madrid in LaLiga and a 3-2 success against Lille in the UEFA Champions League - were two big statements that suggest Los Verdiblancos can win this contest against a Getafe side that don't have enough quality in the final third.
