- Team form: Bihor Oradea have a home record of two wins and two losses (W2, L2, 2.00 goals per game conceded at home).
- Away form: CSA Steaua Bucuresti have only won one of their last two away matches (W1, L1, 1.50 goals conceded per game).
- Standings: Bihor Oradea and Steaua Bucuresti are both level on 48 points from eight Liga 2, Championship Group 2026 matches (Steaua 4th, Bihor 5th).
Bihor and Steaua both on a roll
Bihor Oradea and CSA Steaua Bucuresti have each won two and lost three of their last five matches with the most notable result during that period being Steaua’s 3-1 home win over Bihor just three weeks ago. Bihor have won two of their last three home matches, however, and will be buoyed by those results this weekend as they take on a Steaua side that have struggled on the road in Liga 2, Championship Group 2026 action (W1, L3).
Steaua’s win over Chindia Targoviste in their most recent away match was the latest in a story arc where Daniel Oprita has installed his tactical ideas into a team that has had structure and composure since 2019.
Oprita’s teams are always well-drilled, composed in possession and capable of playing wide, structured possession-based soccer. His side will look to dominate the midfield, build up their attacks systematically and press in unison to win the ball back.
Bihor boss Erik Lincar has instilled a completely different culture at the club since he took charge of Bihor. Lincar’s team are high energy, aggressive in their pressing and very transition-based with the majority of their play coming from the half-spaces.
Bihor’s forwards and wide attackers are often involved in direct play, with the ball moved with verticality from the center of the field to the goal areas, and it will be interesting to see how Lincar’s men deal with the more possession-based nature of Steaua.
Steaua’s head-to-head record is good but Bihor can edge it
Head-to-head context
Steaua hold a 2-1 head-to-head edge over Bihor in the Liga 2, Championship Group and will probably not be as keen on this game as Bihor, given the promotion race is really between the hosts and Chindia Targoviste.
Odds, prediction and key players
Bihor are rightfully the bookmakers’ favorites for this game at 2.36, while Steaua are a touch overpriced at 2.99 and the tie looks about right at 3.18. We’re going for a Bihor win here, but the tie is the most likely outcome as this is a chess match between two decent teams with good recent records against one another. The under 2.5 goals option will be a big favourite at 1.63, however, as these two teams should play a tight match with the stakes so high.
- Dragos Tescan has netted three of Bihor’s last nine goals and is always a big threat.
- While Steaua’s Remus Chipirliu has been the focal point of their attacks for much of the last five games, scoring two of their goals in that time.
