Bukovyna Chernivtsi will bring momentum into their first-ever Ukrainian Premier League game when they host LNZ Cherkasy at Bukovyna Stadium on Monday. Serhiy Shyshchenko's side won the 2025-26 First League title to earn promotion and arrive with confidence from a string of impressive results, such as the 6-0 thrashing of second-placed Vorskla in May.
Bukovyna also have a recent taste for revenge on Monday's opponents, having beaten LNZ on penalty kicks after a 0-0 quarter-final draw in the Cup back in March of 2026. But the hosts will need to play a very different style to get the better of LNZ on the opening day as they are a different level of team.

They drew 0-0 with Belgian side Gent in a UEFA Conference League qualifier before thumping Sturm Graz 6-2 in a warm-up friendly last week, so there is an element of mystery about where they are right now.
LNZ will surely win this matchup if they are at their best, but Bukovyna are a plucky underdog and fully capable of making a match of it at home on their debut in the major league. Danylo Kravchuk adds another dimension to the visitors' game off the bench or from the start with his pace and bite in midfield, making them a big threat on the transition.
